Anybody got some good links concerning the possible draft?

I've been looking now for the last hour on google all I can find is info about the bills by Rangel, and Hagel's statements.

I am aware that in 2001 events were put in motion to cut a deal with Canada to not take any draft dodgers, ect I am looking for stuff more along those lines.

Can anyone help out? thanks DU bloodhounds.

3. I Kind of Doubt That the Draft Board would Tell the Truth

I doubt that any statements directly from the Selective Service Committee can be trusted, they are so deep into the pockets of the repugs, that they actually believe that chimpy actually earned his Guard slot. I think we will be able to get some good information on what the repugs are up to from other sources. I am looking.

6. Canadians are organizing to support US draft resisters

Lawyers and reporters have been telling us that this supposed agreement has as many holes as the last time -- that lobbying by the Canadian public could have the same result (50,000 American draft resisters admitted). Actually, the political split, if the NDP and Bloc back the Liberals, would help. And public opinion seems to be more firmly polarized against the US administration than in the Vietnam Era. As for using economic leverage -- so many Canadians are upset with lumber, grain, beef, and other trade barriers, they may decide that Bush wouldn't listen to us no matter what we did, so we might as well assert our independence!
