4. Notice that sales and rentals for the Passion were reported the first day
And I haven't heard a peep about F 9/11's first day. Curious.

'Fahrenheit 9/11' sets record for docs on DVD
Last Updated Thu, 07 Oct 2004 18:11:23 EDT

LOS ANGELES - On Tuesday, its first day of release, Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 sold roughly two million units on DVD and VHS.

Those numbers – which come from the Hollywood Reporter trade paper – make the controversial film the most successful documentary ever released on home video.

Industry sources told the paper that they project the film will sell three million combined units in its first week of release.

5. The fact it came out and the fact that it will be shared ....
Will have a potential effect on this election that many have not predicted.

Those cool guy repukes, fence sitters, or others generally tuned out will potentially tune in now.

The other potential positive effect is the ability to see it multiple times and in an environment in which it can truly be studied/assimilated.

This movie is so good, it has to bring in some people who have an open mind finally over to the fact that this admin is the epitome of what has evolved in the republican party.....business practices feeding on incompetence/arrogance....with hell bent militarism.

It's a bit much for the average person to digest, it's a bit too real....but for those that have really been wondering what the F is going on....it's going to provide the answer.

6. I've donated 3 copies to local libraries
They're expecting a lot of requests from patrons. I'm in Canada, but even though the numbers of potential US voters this could influence will be very small, I'm looking ahead to the role we might play if Bush gets back in and imposes a draft.

If the Canadian public are angry enough, we could overrule extradition and immigration treaties, and pressure our government to allow US war resisters in. (It worked 30 years ago. And again, this is a minority government.) That would require a lot of public sympathy for young Americans, and I believe that Moore's film will be a big help.

One of the library branches services the local military base, and this way enlisted people won't have to pay to see it. A lot of them already support our government's decision to stay out of Iraq, but there are always some who have a "we have to stick with the US no matter what" perspective -- this may rattle things a bit.
