Not meant to be confrontational AT ALL!
I saw a thread about Dean, and wondered about Clark and Kucinich, because I felt that they would be really powerful advocates, but I'm not in the loop to hear about them.
Sometimes it's just easier to ask DU folks than to hunt up info myself. So that's what I do. For some reason, every time I do this, someone assumes I have negative intentions.
Nope. None at all.
Maybe I'm wrong, but at this point, I'm convinced that 90% of the Kerry campaign is "underground" or under water - like an iceberg, and that's a GOOD thing. It's harder for the media to distort. Kerry, Edwards, Clark, etc. are meeting with Americans. And getting press in local papers and local broadcasts, but not necessarily national media. I know that our local cable stations broadcast Kerry's town meeting in entirety when he came to Greensboro, NC. It thrilled me to no end. But I'm sure it didn't make the news.
Similarly, the extent of the Get Out the Vote campaign is being reported in the media on occasion, but I don't think most Republicans are willing to accept the sheer magnitude of it. In fact, I think the most astute of them are simply hoping that, true to form, a large number of the newly registered won't vote. But the efforts by the campaign to contact and personally speak to these folks and encourage them aren't going to be reported in the national media either... even though it's happening.
I am of the opinion that Kerry MIGHT win by an incredibly clear majority. But I also sense that he's not going to go to great lengths to advertise it.
So.... for that reason, (my iceberg theory) I tended to assume that if Clark and Kucinich were out stumping for Kerry, that it's a series of local events around the country, or areas in which they have major influence, some rallies, some meetings, not likely to make the national news, and I'm not likely to hear about it. That's why I asked.
Hope that clears things up.
