Just got a e-mail from PepsiCo. about Sinclair.
I had wrote that since they did advertising on Sinclair Station that I wouldn't be buying any more Pepsi products.

E-mail from PepsiCo.

Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us at PepsiCo. Accurate and
balanced journalism is important to us, and we appreciate your thoughts
regarding Sinclair Broadcasting Group's upcoming plans.
We have no national advertising buys scheduled with Sinclair
Broadcasting, nor do we plan to advertise on the program in question.
We will also make our bottlers aware of this situation and share these
concerns so they can take them into consideration as they plan their
local marketing efforts. We will follow the resolution of this issue
closely.
Given your concerns, we also would suggest that you communicate your
views directly to Sinclair Broadcasting Group's President and Chief
Executive Officer, David D. Smith. He can be contacted at Sinclair
Broadcasting Group, 10706 Beaver Dam Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030, or
via email at comments@sbgi.net
Again, many thanks for bringing this to our attention. We value your
comments, and equally, the constructive spirit in which they are
offered.

3. No...
... the founder was a guy named Smith, middle name of Sinclair. I guess they figured Sinclair Broadcasting sounded more distinctive than Smith Broadcasting.

2. My reply from Carlson Leisure
Many thanks for your message.

Please note that Carlson Leisure Group currently runs a very limited
amount of paid broadcast advertising on radio in Milwaukee and
Minneapolis for our Carlson Wagonlit Travel brand (there is no
advertising underway for our Cruise Holidays brand). None of our paid
advertising is appearing on any station owned by Sinclair Broadcasting.

Having said that, there may be some cases of other travel companies
advertising in which they direct consumers to call the Carlson Wagonlit
Travel location nearest them via a tag at the end of a message, but
these messages are not paid for by Carlson nor was any of the media
selection made by our company. Also, there may be isolated incidents
where one of our local franchisees may be advertising, but since they
are independently owned and operated, we have no authority to control
where they choose to advertise.

Finally, we requested that the blogger remove Carlson from the sponsor
boycott list, and it has since been removed. If you know of a site
where our name remains, please let us know so we may set the record
straight.

Thank you,

Steve Loucks, CTC
Senior Director, Public Relations
Carlson Leisure Group

6. Yeah, it does...
It almost makes me want to take up drinking high-fructose corn syrup based soft drinks again, or its "sugar-free" equivalent with artificial sweeteners that have names I find unappetizing.

But I do agree, this is a positive sign. :)

5. This is a mass reply mailing
It has been posted here a few times. Bottom line is, if Pepsi continues to support Sinclair in anyway, nationaly of locally they support what Sinclair is doing and what they have done.

7. Accurate and balanced journalism is important to Pepsico...
so ask them to support reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine, when Kerry is president.
