Now I just feel defeated. Maybe I'll bounce back, again, but I'm not sure. Anyone else feel this way?

2. I'm so fucking sad right now
He just gave up. He knows probably better then most of us that this election wasn't legitimate. That fucking bastard didn't say a fucking thing. I feel like i've been molested.

4. If he wasn't ready to fight he didn't deserve to win.
The trouble is we are in his boat too.

5. I feel like I'm fixin' to die.... sick to my stomach.
Words fail me.
And that in itself should tell anyone who knows me how bad it is.
Crying is over. Pain, numbness, pure sadness.
I can't believe it.

6. I suspect his people dug into the numbers and found
they just couldn't pull it off.

I can't come up with any other scenario that he would have backed down...despite some of the comments I have read here this AM.

10. Does anyone watch and/or listen to Democracy Now! ?
It was a 2 hour show today, early in the show she spoke to the Ohio Senator, and talked about problems in Ohio, and ended with Greg Palast and someone from the Civil Liberties Union pointing out even more widespread voter fraud than yesterday. I thought the Kerry team would dig to find this stuff and fight at least for a few days. (My mother-in-law called early this AM, worked at a polling place all day yesterday in mid California, record turn-out, lots of youth vote. A man walked in and announced that Republicans could vote that day but Democrats could wait until November 3rd to vote!!!! I heard that happened in Florida, but California!!!? They told him not to say another word...I think he should have been arrested!) In Chico, California, near us, a black woman wearing a tee shirt with both Bush's on it that said dumb & dumber was told she couldn't vote. Police were called, big too-do, she took off her shirt and voted in her bra!

I can't believe this. At first I thought, well, we can go after Bush hard now, even if he has a nose hair out of place. Then on one of the main stream channels last night I heard them talking about his clear "mandate" in winning so big and how he and his will take this as being free to be MORE aggressive in foreign policy, and changing everything here at home according to HIS religious beliefs.

I thought I was depressed before that! Why didn't Kerry fight? I'll never believe this election was legit. (And Bush will never be my President. I'll be on his butt every day!) The early polls don't match the voting and a big deal was made about Rove getting on the phone when he heard that and they were feeling down. Suddenly things changed.

A secret message to the electronic voting machines??? I wouldn't put anything past him!

This freeper thing is amazing. What a good example of the Republican mentality, if you can't cheat and lie it ain't worth doing! I'd like to say more later on the Swift Boat idiots, but this is too long. Just venting.

7. he has to have ammunition with which to fight
We don't seem to have sufficient evidence, at this time, to justify another Indecision 2000 scenario. I think he was cheated, I think as time goes by, we'll get the evidence that he was cheated but, at this time, honestly we don't have it. People in a position to gather evidence should be doing that. Nixon cheated, and, in the end, it came back to him. Agnew took bribes, and it came back to him. We shouldn't let up on our demands for accountability.

You'll bounce back again, we all will. We survived Reagan, didn't we? We survived Nixon. Most leaders, most times, for most of human history, are either incompetent or actively venal. Yet the human race is still here.

Be good to yourself, get some rest, and never give up. The battle between dark and light is an eternal one.

8. I think a lot of us feel this way.
I feel defeated, still a bit teary, FURIOUS at our moranic populace, but I'm starting to think more, not just feel. That's what's so great about DU right now; there are some great threads with all kinds of ideas already. I haven't bounced back yet, but I'm getting there a lot quicker than I thought I would.
Damn, I'm glad I found this place!

11. I went to the drug store today
There was an older guy there, trying to explain to the pharmacist why he couldn't afford $200 for 30 pills for his son. He was begging for some way he could get a discount of some sort. He'd just been in there the day before filling some other prescription for $60. When I left, he was still standing there, the pills on the counter, he was unable to pay, but unable to go home without the pills for his kid. I broke down on the way out of there.

12. You know I have been here.......
the democratic underground since gore's win was stolen from him. I was devastated. I watched as the black caucus tried in vain to get one senator to help them get that election nullified. I watched as 911 turned some Americans into sniveling scaredy cats. I watched Bush and Co. have their way with Most of the democrats in the Senate. I watched spineless democrats give bush whatever he wanted. And I watched the democrats trash Al Gore when it looked like he wanted another stab at beating bush again and making it stick, he had nothing to lose. So I half expected this to happen, ( another election Theft.) I knew pigboy didn't amass all this power to the executive branch to let an election take it away. So I am not going anywhere, and will fight the repugs, to get our country back. We just have to use their own tactics against them.
