Gore/Clarke 08
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 03:03 PM by jflooney
The ticket for 2008 is Gore/Clarke. Strong on Government and National Security issues.

Nixon was VP, ran for President and lost. Came back and 8 years later was elected President in a time of war with broad distrust with what was going on in government. Who thinks that there will be any faith in the government in 4 years.

1. It was 8 years, not 4
Nixon lost to Kennedy in 1960; he won the presidency in 1968.

8. A ticket sure to carry Vermont and its 3 Electoral College votes
Dean for DNC Chair. He could do a great service to the party and would do a great job.

10. Gore needs a base
frankly he's homeless. We need a southerner with southern roots who has southern power. Clinton carried Arkansas because he was the current governor. Gore had been out of Tennessee for 8 years when he ran for President. I hate to be a downer, but I really don't think we can win in 2008 with our infrastructre as it is now. We need strong progressive governorships in the south or the so called border-south. Kansas could be a good start. Gore could go to Tennessee and run for governor and run in 2012. Who knows, but if we want to win we need to start now and support progressives in the south. In 2006 I want a progressive to contest every single congress seat held by a republican. We need our own version of a contract with america. I think if we make a three part promise with America: Affordable healthcare, affordable higher education, and a strong job market could reach moderates in the south.
