Dennis MILLER Bashes LIMBO, Props FRANKEN
Edited on Mon Sep-01-03 10:59 AM by UTUSN
To avoid giving DRUDGE another hit, I Googled to find other sources for Dennis MILLER's ********LAST****** remaining shred of Lib humor.

******QUOTE*****
http://www.dittohead.org/rush_miller.html
(Old? quote: ) .... "No one is more full of himself, or, for that matter, more full, than Rush Limbaugh," Miller recently said of the nation's top talkshow host. ....

(Current? quotes: ) .... But Miller's recent comments about the talkshow host has caused immediate outrage among Limbaugh fans.

"Limbaugh articulates the blindingly white anger of every short-sleeved Wal-mart assistant manager in America who's outraged because a black kid called him by his first name," Miller declares in a book released last week.

"Limbaugh is emblematic of what's wrong with the medium," rants Miller.

"I don't have all that much to say about Rush Limbaugh, because Al Franken already wrote a book that cut him into ten million pieces, each of which weighed roughly half a pound."

During a Comic Relief concert, Miller gave a 'thums-up' when host Whoopi Goldberg called Limbaugh a "fat as*hole." ....

1. Is this the turning of the tide?
When the sycophants change sides, does it mean that we're winning?

5. this is a very old Miller rant ...
He is still, at this time, the punk into which he has so comfortably grown.

13. I was going to say
Just how old are these quotes? Seems out of character for Miller these days.

11. Dumass Miller is a weather vane
If he's talking to right wingers, he spews their party line bullsh*t. If he speaks to left wingers, then he tries to hide his right-wing tendencies. Don't expect him to reform. If he appears to be, then he's just making a money grab. Ignore him, and allow him to fall upon the ash-heap of history.

15. My question exactly.
Keep your eye on Howard Fineman. When he turns, Bush is toast.

16. Nobody's Turning (Back to Us)
Not MILLER, not Tweety, not SLUDGE, not FINEMAN.

As a couple of posters have said, it's just competitors/rivals sniping. MILLER supposedly "won" against LIMBOsevic with Monday Night Football, then crashed and burned. He made snarky remarks against LIMBOsevic back then, and LIMBO took the high road. Now LIMBOsevic leaves MILLER in the dust with the ESPN deal. LIMBOsevic far outstrips MILLER in the $$$$ department. MILLER is just harboring his personal resentment, which has NOTHING to do with MILLER's now WINGNUT POLITICS that are going to STAY wingnut. And if he ever came crawling back to us, I would say, "Stay over there."

To the recurring questions as to WHEN he said these things, pls see post #12 and the original one. Don't MAKE me go link SLUDGE, now.

3. I think this is OLD.
Franken's book has been out for several years, and this just doesn't sound like the kind of stuff Miller the Unfunny would say today.

I saw him on Maher's HBO show the other night and he's just totally lost it.

6. Could Be Image Maintainence?
Miller signed to do a few Boston Public shows...
Maybe he didn't 'test' well and his handler's need to buff up his liberal credientials...
This is a hilarious piece about Miller here:

14. beautiful satire
A particularly apt description of America today, I think:
"Look, we were all scared when those planes swan-dived into the towers, OK? But when did America become the shirtless boyfriend with bad teeth that you see banging his head against the back window of the patrol car in every episode of Cops? We need to get a grip before the rest of the world decides to finally sign the papers extending the restraining order another 4,000 miles. I’ll be the first one to say that we have to respond to terrorism, but the problem is that we’re running around like the lynch mob in The Ox-Bow Incident, and when Hank Fonda stands up and says that maybe we got the wrong guy, Jane Darwell whacks him on the head with a gun butt, and the next thing you know you’re smelling the continental breakfast at Camp X-Ray. All I’m saying is that it’s time to scrap the Merle Haggard diplomacy, OK? While we’re running around the world like Barney Fife at a jaywalkers convention, it’s good to know that our schools are shit, our economy is floundering and they’ll have universal health care in Kabul before we have it here. At least Ari Fleischer took the honorable way out before Rove made him wear the jaunty Iraqi Minister of Information beret and tell us the moon is made of Sonoma Dry Jack. Ah f--k it, where’s my propeller hat? "

4. Didn't Miller sub for Hannity
Just this week? This is only a competitive ploy, not a sincere observation.

12. It's on the SLUDGE Site Right Now
As said, to avoid linking SLUDGE, I did a Google and most of the current SLUDGE material was in it, but also appearing to include the older, first quote.

I have no illusions about MILLER "turning" back to us, just like it any time that wingnuts get trashed, by themselves or whomever. Just as I have NO illusions about Tweety or SLUDGE, when posts surface here about their supposedly having been "fair and balanced to us lately."

9. I think we're missing the obvious here.
Limbaugh is now doing football commentary. And Dennis is not.

I'd love to think Miller has come to his senses, but I won't hold my breath.

17. Is this sour grapes on Dennis Miller's part
because Rush is now doing football commentary and he no longer is?

I would need to hear Dennis Miller say Bush sucks on a regular basis before I ever listened to him again.
