i've seen calls for Al Gore as well, and while i would not object, i would like to remind people that Gore also conceded to Bush, just like "fight tooth and nail till every vote is counted" Kerry.

if Dean doesn't want to be party chair becuase he wants to run again, i still want him front and center.

we need someone to fill the void, we need it desperately.

2. bullshit ...
What we need to do is lick our wounds, rest a little bit and actually think about what might be the best thing to do.

Dr. Dean, God bless him, is no panacea. We all really need to kick back and think this thing through.

4. I agree with one and disagree with two
MacCauliffe and the right leaning DLC must go if the democrats wish to be reborn (no religious message there!). Dean , though his supporters are a zealous bunch, has shown to have no legs with the voters, not much sense in his public face and should not lead, though I welcome his help.

5. McAuliffe is consistent.
Consistently runs a loosing campaign. The old democratic guard needs to go, we need a fresh approach. What? I don't know. How to convince the ignorant, bigoted, sexist, bible thumpers to go democrat while remaining true to the democratic ideal may not be possible.

6. i hate the dlc too, but we have to be a bit realistic here
(christ, i hate it when people say that)

anyway, it turns out the old guard did just fine. we got the youth vote, better than before. we won on both iraq *and* the economy. what beat us? gays, and abortion, a touch of guns, and the wild-eyed fundy jesus.

the republican base outvoted both the democratic base *and* the increased portion of independents we took this time. time to face up to the fact that there are a LOT of these fucking inbred morons. and i will NOT join them in order to enjoy some sort of meaningless victory, by voting for an anti-gay, anti-abortion democratic candidate. they wouldn't win either, because even though the democratic base is somewhat smaller than that of the retarded fundamentalist christian assholes, we still need to hold it together to have any chance at all. and it, and the bigoted fundie christian pieces of shit, are oil and water. until, perhaps, some of them start to starve to death. or lose their basic cable. they, then, can pantomime a sanity they never had, and come crawling back to us.
