1. Why do they both have negative connotations?
How about misinformed? I'd rather be called misinformed than ignorant.

3. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant
All of us are ignorant in one way or another, but we choose to learn.

5. I know there's nothing wrong with it.
But if you walk up to someone and say, "You're ignorant," it'd come across with the same connotation as, "You're stupid."

"You're misinformed," however, takes a little bit of the personal out of it, and keeps the lines of communication open.

11. Um, did I say give up?
No. But thanks for putting words in my mouth.
We don't give up because time is on our side- 40 years ago the norm was interracial dating/marriage was a grave ill to society- the exact same things were said of interracial relationships as gay relationships today; i.e, comparison to beastiality (???) and the downfall of society. After that generation LOST POWER, their children grew up to accept interracial relations. Just like that, we must aim towards cultivating a society that is accepting of gay relationships. This produces further generations that ACCCEPT that. But the CURRENT GENERATION WILL NOT. We CANNOT change that, but we can shape the future generations.

12. Yeah, but how do we accomplish that till we start relating to people?
Till we start building bridges of commonality and concilliation? It took 40 years for the Radical RW to build their psychological framework too. But you don't start by acting arrogant and superior!
