Key Bush quotes on Sept 11 attacks, war on terror - Reuters
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N30228423.htm

<snip>"He (Osama bin Laden) is what we would call a prime suspect ... If he thinks he can hide from the United States, and our allies, he will be sorely mistaken.

Sept 16, 2001 - "This crusade, this war on terrorism, is going to take a while." (comments on returning from Camp David)

Sept 17, 2001 - "When I was a kid I remember ... the 'wanted' poster. It said, 'Wanted, Dead or Alive.' All I want and America wants is to see them brought to justice." (comments to reporters about bin Laden)

May 1, 2003 - "The liberation of Iraq is a crucial advance in the campaign against terror. We have removed an ally of al Qaeda and cut off a source of terrorist funding ... " (announcing end of major combat in Iraq)

2. Some of my favorites
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our Number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
George W. Bush 13-Sep-01

About FACE!

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
George W. Bush 13-Mar-02

I don't have links, but Google should.

4. Here is one link to these revealing remarks -- and another nice example

"Dead or alive," said the president. We were promised Osama bin Laden's head on a platter. On Sept. 13, 2001, President Bush said this to a grieving and shocked nation, "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." But then his focus shifted and there was a new public enemy number one: Saddam Hussein. Eighteen months later to the day, President Bush said this of bin Laden, "I don't know where he is and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

What did Osama do to move so quickly from being the administration's number one priority to not even being a priority at all? Eighteen months after Sept. 11, bin Laden was still alive, and for all we know, still plotting to kill even more of us. It wasn't anything bin Laden did; it was Bush's short attention span.

The lie that should convince the public to support the 1st gulf war:

On Oct. 10, 1990, a 15-year-old girl calling herself "Nayirah" told her tear- jerking story in front of Congress. Turned out that the girl (who was using a stage name) was actually the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. Her story was completely fabricated and she had been coached for the staged event by the Hill and Knowlton PR agency.

5. I love the incubator story too
It just so perfectly shows what sheep we are and what craven cowards our party is that that lie (to Congress ! perjury alert) has been allowed to get by.

7. But Media does not like it, I suppose
That story should be kept in mind by newspapers when commenting on statements of the Adminstration. But I do not detect a sceptical attitudes towards such statements.

Is the broad public aware of this incident being staged?

6. I've often wondered why Congress didn't subpeona him and haul his ass up
the Hill and explain his 3/1/02 statement in a little more depth.....
he should be censured for this callous statement...if his father was a victim, I wonder if he'd have had the same non-chalent attitude about it?

3. From one operator to another...

Gee. Wonder why Bush didn't share the intelligence he received when he was briefed on the ranch in August 2001? All it would've taken was a phone call to the FAA to tighten airport security. It'd be a different world today. Sigh. Some things never change, like a Bush actually having intellectual curiosity or a conscience. — Octafish

July 30, 2003 — "The threat is a real threat ... We don't know when, where, what.

"We're dismantling the operating decision-makers. We've got better intelligence gathering, better intelligence sharing. And we're on the hunt. And we will stay on the hunt."
(comments about new government warnings of possible al Qaeda attempts to hijack commercial airliners.)

EDIT: added "or a conscience" because it's true, based on Poppy ordering the incineration of hundreds and possibly thousands of Panamanians in his hunt for Manuel Noriega and the deaths of thousands of fleeing Iraqi conscripts on the "Highway of Death" out of Kuwait in 1991. Like Evil Father like Dim Son, Bush Jr's penchant for making fun at the expense of a condemned woman and his actions as C-in-C throughout his term.
