Something stinks about this Nader NH "challenge/recount" business
the guy isn't an idiot (and he really isn't -usually- an asshole, except when he mucks up vote counts) so how is it possible he could have "forgotten" to include a check or payment with this alleged request?
I don't get it...:eyes:

2. He didn't have the money ...
but he met the deadline by one minute. Maybe this buys him time to get the money.

8. I read somewhere they wanted a $1000 deposit...hell, I'd have put that on
my Visa card if I'd known at the time....is it realistic to imagine RN could't scrounge up a grand? It just seems so goofy to me - but the whole "election" debacle is goofy too, so here we are...

6. Nader put check in Fax. It got jammed. Ballot Commission accepted
another candidate two years ago who lives in NH and check got jammed in fax. That's the precedent. Nader is a lawyer...he knows the election law.

7. So far as I know...we Lost...any efforts to do a recount expose BBV and
other election "glitches" (repug talks) or FRAUD (Dem Talk)

I'm glad he's doing it and urge the Libertarian and Green Party Candidates to follow Nader where they are on the ballot.

If our "spineless Dems" won't do it...then who is left to do it for us?

13. my feeling is that he did not want to contribute the fifty thousand
of his own money. He was asked and persuaded to this action by BBV, but did not contribut the money himself. So it was pursuant upon donations to BBV, and the cause was taken up by Randi Rhodes for one, who was asking listeners to contribute to BBV in order that the challenge go through. The assumption being that if it is proven that there was fraud, the rest of the entire voting process could also be challenged with good reason in states like Florida and Ohio.

What I don't really understand is if the reports are true that Kerry had a good substantial amount of money put aside to challenge a result and thousands of lawyers in waiting, why this money by the Kerry campaign was not put to the same use and we are left with begging Nader to do something for it is apparent he did not think of it independantly. We read reports, by John Dean for one, that if there was a challenge, it would become a mess of litigation for a long time and he expected that. Yet we hear nothing from the Kerry campaign and we hear from Nader who had to be persuaded to embark upon this but who apparently was not willing to spend his money, or to make the effort to raise the money from his supporters, for this challenge.

It is becoming a mess and becoming quite convoluted. There may be fraud, but these types of endeavers suddenly from Nader who had to be asked, having to be financed through the begging of donations from those clinging to hope for a reversal or the proof of a dirty election as the last resort, to me, are weak without the Kerry campaign involved , or anyone else on the political scene for that matter.
