Good Riddance, Powell
Wish you would take your son with you--

I would have never connected Powell with Mai Lai had he not jumped on the wagon with this band of jackasses---

I am glad to see him go, but scared of who is next-

Stephanie

It will either be Condi Rice, or Paul Wolfowitz!

3. never understood what the fuss was
Powell is one of those people who somehow accumulates respect by never expressing an opinion of any substance on any subject.

5. It's his round, non-threatening face
Seriously. He looks like a big teddy bear.

4. Ditto that, Steph
As contemptible as Powell is/was, at least he wasn't a full-fledged PNAC Imperialist warmonger... can't wait to see his replacement.

What is going to crawl out from under the PNAC depth of hell now???

I feel like I am watching a really bad Godzilla movie with these clowns.

"I feel like I am watching a really bad Godzilla movie"
more like "gremlins"

6. Don't let the door hit you on the ass..
.. you piece of shit! Same with the other three who announced their departure today.

Guess they're getting out while the gettin's good. You never know when supoenas will start flying, and in politics when the re :puke: 's rule, it's CYA and out of site, out of mind.

8. Powell Purged.
Let's kick this. He was purged. you may think he was an evil piece of shit, but the reThugs think of him as a liberal in their ranks.

He was purged. He thought he could accomplish something with Arafat's passing, and was told "uh-uh."

9. First they came for the gays, and I didn't say anything
because I wasn't gay.

Then they came for the Democrats, and I didn't say anything because I wasn't a Democrat.

They they came for the pro-choice Republicans, and I didn't say anything because I wasn't Specter.

Then they came for the reality-based CIA agents, and I didn't say anything because I've been saying that Saddam had weapons.

Then they came for me. And nobody said anything.

12. Perhaps, but he could have resigned in protest years ago when the Bushista
s ran rough-shod over his policies.

17. Shoulda, sure. But still--Powell was purged.
Let's not let it be categorized as anything but that.

reThugs always trot out their "moderates" like Powell as some kind of evidence that they're not right wing goons. We can't continue to allow them this cover under any circumstances, and we must refer to this (and any other cabinet "resignations" as purges.

Stalinist terminology for Stalinist times.

11. "I serve at the pleasure of the President." Good line for a WHORE.
POS sell-out. He was the one Republican I admired. Now, I don't admire a single one of them (except perhaps Ron Paul).

You've destroyed your reputation and killed a lot of people. I'd tell you to go to hell, but if there's any justice in this world, that's where you're headed.

13. I see Powell's departure in more ominous terms. His exit means that
the twin megalomaniacs, Cheney and Rumsfeld, are going to rule the roost for the next four years. Can more wars, killings and atrocities be far behind?

Bush, who takes delight in the sufferings of others is going to demand more and more bloodshed Ariel Sharon style to keep his bloodlust satisfied.Who best to cater to the Emperor's needs than the Twins?

I almost wish there were some buxom blondes in Bush's parlor that would satisfy him sexually and cool his thirst for blood.

16. Nancy's a great fundraiser but waaaay too "nice" to lead
We need a woman "scrapper" like Maxine Waters. Yes, I'm tired of pansy and pink tutu speakers for the Democratic Leadership. Get tough dammit ... don't take it, instead, dish it back at them.

19. Uh, yeah, Nancy. The guy who helped cover up the My Lai Massacre.
The guy who knowingly lied to the world at the UN about Iraq's alleged (and proved nonexistent) WMD.

A great guy. What the fuck is wrong with that woman? I mean, shit, she's not even DLC, so what's the deal with her fellating a fascist?

20. I'm not happy he left...
He was just about the only sane person on Bush's foreign policy. Unfortunately he really damaged his credibility by being on this team.
