Colin Powell is a disgusting excuse of an American
Now after the ELECTION he resigns and talks about needing "alliances" with other nations, when it's too late to make a difference.

Another dishonorable Repuke destroyer if America headed for the special place in hell

1. Powell was in it for his own advancement.
When he failed there, he decided to bail.

Simple as that.

Sinners always have excuses for their sins.

4. Well, there's your opinion.
I suggest that Powell was trying to do his best. He was offered a position that made him one of the most powerful and influencial people in the country. I think he did the best he could considering the scum that surrounded him.

6. Sorry, but....

though I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt - and would still be willing to - I can't believe this was the best he could do. He furthered the aedministration's propaganda, lied to the UN, and if he had any principles that told him going so was wrong? He should have spoken up and used his power to prevent this war.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - you, me, and the OP (LOL), but though I do think of him as most likely in this administration to have a conscience, I don't think he has used it much in the last 4 years.

7. Here you see both truck and rail-car mounted mobile factories.
One pastel drawing is worth a thousand photographs:

Note: Destroyed in 1991.

Note: Not suitable for uranium enrichment, per DOE. This was known at the time of the UN presentation.

8. I couldn't agree more
You'd think, being a soldier, first, last and always (I guess THAT was a ruse) he would put the welfare of the soldiers first. But screw that-let Chimpboy get four more years and many more dead in Iraq for-yep-nothing-oh wait that's not nothing-that's an ideology that they will cling to until the last man is airlifted and we have total absolute failure. ( I think we already have that, but we just need a few thousand more dead to be certain)

9. And don't forget his son, Michael Powell of the FCC...
He's done a lot of damage to this country's freedom, too.

10. Military guys shouldn't be politicians or statesmen.
In the military you bark orders and the flacks obey. In politics and diplomacy you have to negotiate and compromise. I think this is why Powell was ineffective. It's known that he didn't approve of the Iraqi invasion, yet he didn't have the negotiator's skills to talk Shrubby and the PNAC'ers out of it.

"You break it, you own it," is not an argument that is going to persuade anyone but a child.

Yet, when the invasion was decided upon, like a good and obedient soldier he went along with it. A politician probably would have resigned then and stood back and watched so he could cluck, "I told you so," after.
