Prohibition: Joe Kennedy Sr. is evil, but NASCAR is okay?

I have a co-worker who can't wait to bring up Joe Kennedy Sr.'s alleged ties to bootlegging during the Prohibition era in any conversation about any Kennedy. (Do you have any repukiots who use that "logic"?)

Anyway, I was reminded (watching a History Channel show) that JKSr. had "alleged" ties to bootlegging liquor. Also guessed but not as prominent in my mind was the effect Prohibition and shine running had on the establishment of NASCAR. Including the fact that most of the early winners of the NASCAR races were all shine running drivers.

So, if Joe Kennedy was so evil for making a profit off the "evil" spirits, why isn't NASCAR so evil in her mind? And, if she feels that the Kennedys are tainted with the stench of illegal alcohol, then should I slap her around with the idea of trying to get rid of NASCAR? (well, the cigarette influence has been toned down . . .)

They have much simpler brains that are either in Input or Output mode.

When they hear their master's voice on AM radio, they drop into Input mode, a trance-like state. When they get in a discussion with others, they go into the more manic Output mode, and merely spew out the disjointed 'items' they've absorbed in their previous Input state.

It's a pretty good trick, though. A lot of them are quite convincing. I think that game designers could learn a few points from it to use in Bot programming.

rumors. There is no serious evidence that he had any illegal connections to the alcohol industry during prohibition. It was something that his enemies whispered behind his back. You might ask her if she has anything other than rumors to back up her mistaken notion.
