Poll question: Are those working for defense contractors more guilty than taxpayers?
Are the people who work for defense contractors more guilty than taxpayers for what their government does?

1. More responsible no doubt
Not sure that guilty is a relevant concept absent a conviction.

3. No way.
In a lot of places, working for a defense contractor is the only good paying job in town.

We, as taxpayers, should take responsibility for where our taxes go, we shouldn't be passing the buck onto people who are just trying to make a living.

5. ummm - definately no....
kind of like asking if the worker-bees at Enron (the ones Lay & buddies screwed out of their pensions) are guilty for Enron raping California.
Frankly i did everything i could do to prevent this fiasco, i marched, wrote letters, contacted my reps in congress, donated far more $$$ than rational to various groups.
kindly don't begrudge me my paycheck... i didn't vote for this gubmint.

7. Hey, peacebird!
Welcome to DU! :hi:

BTW, working for a military contractor paid 100% of my undergrad tuition. My major? Peace studies! :hippie:

4. I'm a contractor for the FAA
Am I guilty if a plane falls out of the sky?

Of course not. Hey, we need defense. I don't think we could ever live without it. The blame lies with our leaders and those who acquiesce to them.

9. No
It's the people's responsibility to keep govt spending in check.
450B in defense spending is 300B to much.

10. I just can't buy the..
"I'm just doing my job" line anymore. That allows people to avoid responsibility for enabling anything. We didn't accept it from the good little soldiers in WW2. I have a hard time choking it down from people who see the headlines about their company but keep sucking down the fat stock options.

Now I'll admit a lot of lower level employees may just be clueless. But if you know what your company is doing...then you share some of the blame for it if you stick with em.

imho of course.
