Bush was exposed; he denied nothing; no witnesses came to his aid
What's that tell ya? He's guilty as charged. He couldn't call CBS's bluff because he was worried they had the evidence.

While I think CBS should be reprimanded if they made it up, the real story is that Bush is guilty as charged, whether or not the documents were a fabrication.

If a standing president like the chimp were innocent of the charges, he would've been all over the airwaves denying everything and screaming about it like the brat that he is. His silence told us everything there is to know. The most important thing is that Bush couldn't even get any witnesses to come out of the woodwork and "remember" anything different than what CBS was conveying in their fabricated story. At least Kerry had live witnesses come to his defence in the swift boat liars scandal.

Why is MSM not all over the chimp? There is still a huge story there, yet their focus is on the people getting fired by CBS. Imagine if it was Bill Clinton they were talking about.

19. When Bush went awol. This morning several CBS people were fired
over their parts in the fabricated documents story, including the producer of the story, I believe, who's attributing the firings to politics.

2. When the Presidend suffers scurrilous accusations it would be
beneath his dignity to reply to them.

Oh. Wait. This is Bush.

He has no dignity.

And he's not the President.

Never mind.

16. Because story was soft pedaled, distorted, misrrepresented. The 61 million
people would have responded differently if they had all the facts. And if Swift boat liars did not get their crap video run on news shows for free a zillion times, massive brainwashing on this issue would not have happened. Big media must be dismantled.

21. Thank you. And it's also not beating a dead horse when MSM is
getting their rocks off this morning on the firing of CBS employees, but saying nothing all along about Bush having gone awol....talk about priorities being in the wrong places. It was plastered all across that ticker tape thing this morning on CNN news that shows the sub-headlines.

13. So There's A Limitation On Being A Coward & Liar?
What is the statute of limitations on a president being a coward, a liar and failing to fulfill a contractural obligation?

Would it be about the same as the limit on being investigated for losing money in a land deal?

The documents couldn't be verified as originals, but the fomer secretery who questioned their status also said that their CONTENTS accurately reflected what *'s commanding officer thought about the young "man."

This is a total hatchet job and it demonstrates that the American news media is dead, worthless, less than worthless, dangerous--yes a danger to democracy. You would think they would circle the wagons to protect one of their own who was actually trying to report the news. But nooooooooo.

Jesus. Morans.

6. Paper is valueless.
It is the CONTENT on said paper that gives it value. If what was on the papers was accurate, that should have been the story, regardless of whether it was written then or not.

For example, if I say something and believe it wholeheartedly. Does it matter if it's written down by me right now, or five years from now, by someone who accurately knew what I said ?

ugh, how disgusting these people are now.
I find it hard to tell the difference between CNN, MSNBC, etc. and all of those 'entertainment nightly' types.

22. Exactly. The media is lazy anymore
What ever happened to the relentless journalists who wouldn't quit until they finally uncovered the evidence that proved the truth we all know existed about something like this? Are they simply covering the easy stuff that's already out there for the taking?

All it would take is one.

include any mention on the substance of the charges is DEAFENINGLY ABSENT. The important facts are that the charges in the memo have never been denied or refuted and that the secretary who supposedly typed the controversial memo confirmed their contents to be 100% accurate and true, word for word, regardless of the fact it was retyped. It sure seems like CBS was calculatingly duped. There is an unsolved msytery here. I always wondered if there was any security camera video in that fast food parking lot when that mysterious woman handed off the memo. Sigh. Water under the bridge.

7. The White House was shown the documents
and thought they were genuine, or at least the contents were. They could have said they were fake (or the story wasn't true) at that time.

11. But if the White House had objected to the documents....
And the story had been quashed--Bush's AWOL past would still be lurking out there.

Now, listening to the news, the uninformed public just thinks it's all garbage--even though the basic facts of Bush's history have been known for some time.

12. The silence is deafening
NO ONE remembered serving with then Lt. Bush* at all? Surely one individual would step up.

The press also passed over one fact: where's Bush's* record of discharge/completion of service record?

Of course, the WH and media whores are following the RW SOP: attack the messenger and the message. :puke:

The MSM love to attack one of their own, it takes the attention off of themselves. We need to look at the MSM who are talking the most about CBS those are the ones who have the most to hide.

23. Nah. He was
just playing it smart. The guilty are entitled to keep their mouths shut, but so are the innocent. People would start saying he was protesting too much.

As for witnesses in his defense, what would they be able to say? "I know nothing about these documents?" That would prove nothing. It's up to the person who makes these accusations to prove them.

Anyway, it wasn't a story to begin with. The American people never cared if he missed a few meetings, had help getting a cushy spot in the TANG, or missed his physical despite orders. They never, ever cared. If it could have been proven, they still wouldn't have cared. That's why this story is so tragic. These people destroyed their careers over something that the American people, except for us here on DU and a few others, never cared about
