Wuttup, dogs
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 01:09 AM by WilliamPitt
Three messages.

1. To those who watched the goddam TV coverage today and are festooned with despair, misery and possibly your own bile, I say buck up. TV was nowhere near reality in DC. The Bush folk had no peace. Everywhere they went - EVERYWHERE - they were met with protesters. Protesters covered this town like butter today. They were everywhere. Tens of thousands. As dark as the day was with the inauguration of the goober, the folks put on a good show and flew the flag, and the W folk did not at all enjoy the day.

2. To those who were out in the streets of DC today, reach over and pat yourself on the back. You did great.

3. To any lurking freeps, neocons, fundies or other assorted detrius, understand that your fifteen minutes are close to being over. Your wave crested today, and it is all downhill from here.

2. That's encouraging!
Sadly, what the media depicts is what is "reality" for most of America.

Until/unless the bastard comes to your/my town. Then, as Pryor said, "WE shall see!"

Regardless, that's very encouraging.

5. Everywhere?
No shit?
Then bartender! A pint of stout for everyone who fought the good fight in DC today!
(And if you don't drink stout, then order whatever you want.)

Thanks Will. I needed that.

12. MSM has reported anywhere from 500 to 1500 people protested
today. I know I saw a huge number on C-SPAN. How can they misrepresent that number by so much when it was on TV for everyone to see and hear?

13. so there were more than 1500 to 2000 protesters ?
As I channel surfed I noticed that the general tv talking head consensus was that there was the occasional protester scattered here or there , but no big deal. Protesters (according to them) were OVERWHELMED by the THOUSANDS of Bush supporters. A few even mentioned there weren't as many protesters as their has been at inaugerations past. ( I didn't necessarily believe them btw)

16. There were definitely more Bush folk than protesters
but maybe by a 3-1 margin. Do the math. 'Twas a good day.

15. Thanks for keeping us updated today, Will
:toast:

I enjoyed reading your reports. I especially liked the one where you pointed out to a Freeper that Bush lied in his SOTU address ... and the Freeper blamed the Democrats for it, LOL! What planet do these people live on?

17. I'm so glad you posted this Will!!
I was at home today but glued to CSpan watching the protests. You great people were everywhere!! I saw it with my own eyes and could tell we TV viewers were missing much of it. Some commentators on MSM have put the total as low as 500--a joke clearly. Olberman, who I adore said 10,000 or less (I think mistaken). I believe your assessment/tally is more accurate and I'm glad you are spreading the word!

Thank You and everyone else who braved the cold and the Gestapo and the pepper spray. Bravo!!

20. thanks for representing
Will,
Thanks for heading back to DC so soon to represent for all of us who couldn't go and for reporting the truth about the day.
We had a large turnout here in Seattle as well and, from what I have heard, in many other cities throughout the states.
I do believe what Rev. Jackson said on Jan 6th, "This is the beginning."

Thank you, Will! Imagine actually going out to see what's happening before reporting on it. If this shit catches on, it's the end of TV as we know it!
