It seems that everyday there are total blank spots for minutes at a time or a distorted signal. Al Franken's show right from the top has been an extremely weak and distorted signal with occasional crossovers. The previous show was unaffected.
:wtf: is going on?

2. No, Brooklyn, basically right across the East River
and at this moment the signal just became normal.
Are you in the city? Never any problems?

3. I have Sirius in the car
and I get dropouts sometimes, the technology isn't perfect.

IIRC, Sirius' satellites (3?) are in an geosynchronous, but not geostationary orbits. That means that relative to a fixed point on the Earth, the locations of the satellites change somewhat (geostationary is always at a fixed point in the sky). So from time to time, as the satellites move around your reception may change.

During driving, I have noticed that metal (i.e. overpasses) and water (like wet trees in bad rain) block the signal. Stone and wood let it pass somewhat. YMMV.

4. I listen to WLIB whose signal is basically unblocked
relative to my location. I think it probably relates to their equipment at the station (from what I understand it is far from state of the art).

6. I am getting a very weak signal today
Buzzy and fading in & out. I'm on Long Island. It came in OK in my car, but not in my house.
