This is what it's come to - American deaths "buried" in news reports
American deaths in Iraq are now so routine that they don't even make the headlines, or the first few paragrapsh. Take a look at this story -- http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/02/07/iraq.main/. Granted, it's about the death of 25 in two suicide bomb attacks. But the death of an American soldier does not merit comment until the 24th paragraph.

2. January was the third worst month so far, with 107 casualties
But I have neither seen nor heard any mention of this whatsoever.

3. They will hide the deaths
because "the election showed the Iraqi people want to be free" so all of the problems there were solved by it, don't you know?????

Disgusting.

5. It's been that way for a while
My mom keeps up with war news and where it appears in the local paper. She says it has been moving farther and farther into the back pages for a year now. She also says the articles are shorter and there are rarely photos.

Of course, our paper is a right wing rag that still supports Rumsfeld. :puke:
