I nominate Hermann Goering for being the most prescient of all
political figures in the last sixty odd years. At Nuremberg, he said ( and I am paraphrasing) that the crimes for which he and his fellow Nazis were being tried will be repeated in other countries including the U.S. He said that all one has to do is to create an external threat and the entire population can be bent to the will of a Leader. Go read the PNAC document and see how prescient he was. And, weep for what has happened to us.

1. all those who died under the nazis, & all those who fought them
and died, would not recognize america, with it's new adherence to propaganda and hitlerian foreign policy and genocide and torture.

2. The soldiers who fought against the Nazis were a different breed of
Americans altogether. Their sacrifices were perverted by the likes of Dulles,Casey,Bush and McCoy.The result is our own brand of totalitarianism.

What do they say: Choose your enemies wisely, because they are the ones you are going to resemble the most.

3. Here is his exact quote...
Which hangs on my refrigerator and I am sure many people still don't get it.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

--Goering at the Nuremberg Trials
