Weads book was RELEASED January 4, 2005. So why transcripts now?

How did the NYTimes come to get these transcripts at this juncture?
Why were they not released when the book was released? Most publishers (I understand that's where they came from) would release them to coincide with the book and therefore help sales????????

Tapes from a "friend" made back in '98? Just now seeing the light of day? If recorded for possible gain, why wait till now? If the friend didn't want to hurt his run for president, why release them at all? And bottom line is this: except for the hypocrisy from the Repubs who blasted Clinton and Gore for less, it's not much of a story. Everyone, even *'s supporters, know about his "youthful indiscretions" (forget that they continued into his 30's). Much hypocrisy again, as similar "indiscretions" by Clinton and Gore were actual proof of a complete lack of values and morality.

Why the timing on this "story?" Why the attention the MSM is pretending to pay to it? Can you say, "Gannon-who?"
