There are some SERIOUSLY dumb people in this country
Check this out: http://www.usanext.org/voices.cfm

----------------------
"Thank God for Fox News and the fact that I can't sleep at night. I just saw Mr. Linkletter on the N. Cavuto show. I had no idea that USANEXT even existed. Now that I do know I am signing my husband and myself up and throwing a party. We will be roasting marshmellows and AARP cards!!!! LOL." --Is this a parody??
----------------------

"I am an active Republican Conservative. I have been very unhappy with too many of AARP's stands on Retirement Issues. Until today, I did not know Retired Persons had any other national voice. I get all my news from Fox News. Saw Art Linkletter interviewed today on Neil Cavuto's Program. I am here knocking on your door. Thank You for being there.....ws"
----------------------

"The AARP's stand against President Bush's Social Security reform efforts must obviously be because they speak for the Left. Otherwise, they would admit that their members would not be affected by allowing personal investment accounts for younger workers. I believe it is a disgrace the AARP is so anti-Bush. They should support the President!" --Yes, they should support the "President" because..um...well, THEY JUST SHOULD!!one1
----------------------

"I AM ALARMED BY THEIR BIAS VIEWS ON THE SENIORS OF THIS COUNTRY. THEY ARE BEING DUPED." --Gee, Liberals are biased towards...liberal views? Um, WTF?
----------------------

"They wouldn't appear on O'Reilly's program on Fox to even debate their positions. I quit them right then and there. " --LOL, so apparently they aren't bad because of their positions; they're bad because they didn't want to talk to Oh?Really.."
----------------------

More stupidity at the link...

1. My parents quit AARP in protest of the prescription drug plan.
Now they want to rejoin to support gay marriage and not support the troops. My dad cracks me up.

6. I quit AARP for the same reason, but would never rejoin. I joined
Alliance for Retired Americans. Perhaps you can recommend that to them. It is a very progressive group.

2. Stupid gits DESERVE to eat cat food...
"I am an active Republican Conservative... I get all my news from Fox News."

Guess they did well for themselves. "I got mine, fuck the rest of you!"

Some people I'd just LOVE to see trying to live on Sheba and freezing their old asses off.

3. Why I never decided to sell "bottled air"
to compete against "bottled water", I'll never know. Some people are just too easy to market to.

Sheesh.

7. Somewhat off topic, but
We should deluge Art with "shame on you" letters & e-mails. To think that someone as trusted as Art is willing to sell seniors down the river is really reprehensible. Is it politics or senility or both?

He may be 'trusted,' but he's always been an idiot.

He's been lying about the suicide death of his daughter for years, attributing it to LSD, which is false.

13. I just googled him
and got this...
Date of birth (location)
17 July 1912
Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada

That would make him about 93 or so.

16. 80% Fox NewsViewers Misinformed
Study Finds Direct Link Between Misinformation and Public Misconception

Misinformed:

Fox News; 80%

NPR/PBS; 25%

http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/iraq/media/2003/1002misinformation.htm

And they're still as ignorant as dirt;

Bush Supporters Still (Wrongly) Believe Iraq Had WMD or Major Program,
Supported al Qaeda; Misperceive World Public as Not Opposed to Iraq War, Favoring Bush Reelection

http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Pres_Election_04/html/new_10_21_04.html

Rightwingnuts LOVE being DUPED and CONNED and TRICKED and LIED TO. That's why they keep on watching the shows that MISINFORMED 80% of them! Yeah, rightwingnuts ARE REALLY that stupid!

17. ever watch Leno's "Jaywalking" segments? . . .
he goes out and asks seemingly simple questions to people on the street, very often on college campuses . . . they generally go something like . . .

Q: So what are you studying?
A: Elementary education; I want to be a teacher.
Q: Okay . . . can you name two countries that border the United States?
A: Umm . . . England and Hawaii?

you get the idea . . .
