Terrorist attack in Israel-How convenient
On CNN while watching the newsclips of the attack, I noticed people walking around with black flack jackets. On the back was a white stripe with hebrew letters. Half of the stripe was blacked out. Why and what does it say? Couple questions and comments: 1. Did anyone else notice it? 2. How convenient was it for the chimp that the Islamic jihad claims responcibilty and happens to be sponsored by both Syria and Iran. 3. How do you get explosives across a 50 foot wall along the West Bank of Gaza? 4. How do you get across Israeli border crossings with explosives?

Who benefits?

1. The wall is not complete, and it is not consistently 50 feet...

It is also possible that there were tunnels.

Those who sell arms benefit, those with an interest in having a powerful American ally in the Middle East beneefit, those who support the continued oppression of the Palestinian people benefit, and those who for whatever reason support a continuation of this bloody conflict benefit. Ordinary Palestinians and Israelis benefit not at all - but that has not stopped the killers on either side before, so why should it now?

3. So, all of the past terroist attacks have been US/Israel sponsored?
The Islamic Jihad has never stopped its attacks and stated it will not. How have they gotten the stuff into Israel oh say the other hundred times they did it???? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck... sometimes it is just a duck.

7. If you are referring to the degree of Israeli support given to Hamas...
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 06:38 PM by Darranar
then you should be aware that it certainly did not amount to "starting" the organization, nor was it ever intended to do anything but cause strife within the Palestinian nationalist movement - certainly not to result in these kinds of terrorist attacks.

It was a foolish move that backfired, much like the long history of US support for Islamic fundamentalism to offset communism and secular nationalism in the Middle East.

10. I have something to say to those of you who are gloating, or
think this is funny, or who are looking for some convoluted way to blame this on your pet bogeyman, whoever that might be:

Please, stop it.

Now take a VERY DEEP BREATH and pray that all sides, after having buried their dead and comforted their wounded, move forward toward a better future.
