this group, for example . . .

Liberated Christians

Promoting Positive Intimacy and Sexuality Including Responsible Nonmonogamy or Polyamory as a legitimate CHOICE for Christians and others / Exposing false traditions of sexual repression that have no biblical basis. Promoting Intimacy & Other-Centered, Loving Sexuality
Sybian for Maximum G-spot orgasms for women's pleasure and therapy

We believe that many Christians and non-Christians have misunderstood the Christian message and Christian spirituality because of the distorted views of sexuality and intimate relationships that have been taught by the church. We believe that a fuller spirituality in every area can be enjoyed by replacing these views with healthier ones based on clearer biblical translation and interpretation. We also believe that we can lead emotionally and spiritually healthier lives through better sex education and the open discussion of alternative relationship styles and other vital issues of sex and intimacy that trouble Christians and others in our society.

Watch out! It's a scam! You need to send in detailed measurements. They just want to know the size of your swanzstukker!

3. WTF?!
I thought Christians believed sex to be the Devil's Work©. I was raised Church of Christ and they taught us sex is sinful. Now they say they have a bad image over sex? Really? I never noticed.

4. There are any number of congregations
There are any number of congregations around the country that don't hold to fundamentalist dogma. Usually, we're a bit too busy feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and visiting the sick and imprisoned to stop and toot our own horn.

Look for congregations that belong to the Supportive Congregations Network, or any of a number of other organizations under the rubric "open and affirming." Portland has an association of congregations from all sorts of Christian and non-Christian backgrounds that welcome gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgendered and intersexed persons for full inclusion in congregational life. The Community of Welcoming Congregations maintains a website and links to other organizations.

It might take a little looking, but we're around, just about everywhere.
