Here is an issue Democrats would score some points with!!!!

Now that I have your attention this is not just about scoring poits but helping soldiers however it could help Democrats as well. A caller on the Ed Schultz show suggested a GI Bill of Rights. Ed Schultz loved the idea and I do as well. He suggested that soldiers would have rights such as not being sent into battle without proper body armor etc. etc. If they were then they could refuse an order or sue the government. This is something that really should be done and if the Democrats picked it up as an issue they could certainly help get it through and score some points in the process. I would like to get some thoughts on this and some suggestions of what could go into such a GI Bill of Rights. Thanks
If we can get some Democrats to write this up, it would be hard for the republicans to vote against it. Well, not hard for them personally, but they migh be afraid of losing votes.
6. Great Idea and in truth they would be against the troops
Are you suggesting we start getting the word out ourselves or should we all just write our congress people? I am afraid if the Dems don't pick this up someone on the Right will.
9. It's amazing that this thread sinks to the bottom of the page
with so few responses while people are discussing things like who is the best president we never had? This is the kind of thing that could actually do some good and actually help out Democrats! Sometimes I really wonder why people are here on DU??? To tease their brains with crap or to do some good for the country. This is an issue that really could change lives and it could start right here on DU if we want it to. I am not going to let this die, I am going to help get the word out and I am glad you feel the same way.
15. Snail mail this idea to your Senators and Congressfolk.
This needs to be done before 2006. Be sure to encourage expanding Veterens benefits and health care coverage. Dems should be LIBERAL with benefits. The pukes will vote it down. Let that happen!
