"he'll never escape and kill again" as a death penalty rationale.
Should we not then execute *all* people convicted of crimes? Thieves can escape from prison to commit more crimes just as well as murderers. Embezzlers and tax evaders eventually serve their sentences and are released if they don't escape in the meantime. We don't want them walking around any more than we do any other perps. Off with their heads!

In fact, it occurs to me that we're all potential murderers if you think about it. Maybe we should demand that the state kill everyone, so that the rest of us can live in safety from the killers.

:silly:

2. God..the best line was "we should kill because the government
can't be trusted to not let him escape again."

We are on the level with DESPOTIC countries regarding both our blood lust and treatment of our prisoners in America. Between the number of people we put to death and the number of people we put in solitary confinement..we are MORE fucked up than the murderers since they do it sporadically or once or twice in a lifetime..we as a society fucking institutionalize it.

3. don't you love that one?
"I don't trust the government to do anything right. That's why I support the government's right to execute American citizens."

Seriously, though, while it's harder to be against the death penalty for crimes like the ones in Atlanta and Milwaukee, I say killing of ANY type is wrong unless it's personal self-defense. :hi:

11. that's true.
If I thought the dp was the right thing to do ever, I would support it in this case. But I don't.
