5. Hope draws the hopeful. Hate and fear draws the angry and fearful.
Clinton drew people in droves because in the last legitimate presidency in this nation, they had a feeling with him, the country would think freer, be less manipulated by CIA spooks, greasy political strategists and unabashed Repig-sympathizers running our media and corporations, become more prosperous and most importantly enter an era of peace.

Speaking as someone who went to Lancelot Link's coronation, your pics are pretty much right on. There were more police than people. Protestors outnumbered supporters (at least on the streets) 25-1. The scene looked like something out of South America - whole armies of policemen, troopers, military officers placed five rows deep, sharpshooters on the roof, SWAT forces, cops in riot gear with three-foot batons . . . all to protect a fortunate son put in charge of the kingdom by the wealthy and their securitate. Absolutely disgraceful.

The turnout was great for the protestors but pathetic overall, and I think a lot of that reflects the frustration of a rigged system and not being able to do a single thing about it. No thinking individual believes in this idiot or this presidency. No thinking individual is hopeful. The streets were pretty much desolate after Der Fuhrer and Goebbels drove past in their bulletproof tinted limos.

6. bush had crappy weather for two inaugurations *cough* coronations
I'm curious how many times the "transfer of power" has occurred during inclement weather, and if the one being sworn in was Repub or Dem. I'd like to think the Dems have the majority of sunny weather :)

That outfit Hillary is wearing *shudder*

7. What was hillary thinking?
If there's one reason why she shouldn't be our nominee, it's the lack of judgement reflected in that suit.

27. When are we going to quit judging women on what they wear?
Really, it is the 21st century, who gives a tinker's damn what outfit she wore. It says nothing about Hillary's abilities. Madeline Albright wasn't a fashion plate but damn she had a brain cell or two, Indira Ghandi, Mother Teresa, Golda Meir, Marie Curie are just a few that come immediately to mind. When are we going to start judging people by their actions, their words, their abilities and quit sniping about things such as clothes for goodness sake?

Sorry, but I really thought we we long past such things. For every fashion no-no I'm betting that Hillary had plenty of fashion savvy but who would want to keep count or track? One bad outfit or one splendidly chic dress or a whole series of either does not a person make.

13. I was at both of Clinton's inaugurations
at the first one I met some folks and they asked where I was from - at the time I was from Northern VA and had been there since two months after Reagan took office - the folks ask me if it seemed like home after 12 years and my answer was it will seem like home at Noon - when Al Gore was sworn in as VP.....and our 12 year national nightmare was over - now we're in year 5 of nightmare part two....

14. this is absolutely amazing
I had no idea that many people came out for Clinton's inauguration!

The contrast is so telling. No wonder the repukes are the nasty, miserable bastards they are: they have absolutely no support! They have to manufacture support with their Ronco roundtables and their phony "president," known here as the chimperor.

Why oh why are we tolerating these rotten thieving bastards!? They are stealing everything from us--our reputation, our treasury, our jobs, and our futures! Why aren't we out in the streets screaming that we're not taking this anymore????

16. Wonderful! Nice job, Lisa!
It does make one long so for the good ol' days...
I'm in my mid-forties... and in my ENTIRE working life, the ONLY time I was able to make even the slightest bit of advancement financially was the 8 years Clinton was in office... the Reagan Years, and Bush 1, the whole time it was like hanging on the edge of a cliff; Clinton was a breath of fresh air, flawed though he may be...
I hope Reagan burns eternally in hell, surrounded by two burning Bushes... I hope they make him watch all his crappy b-grade movies over and over...
I don't know how much longer I can put up with this current evil dumbecile...
Poor lil' President Pinhead; why's everybody always pickin' on him? Pity the lunatic geniuses of the world...

26. I will never forget Wolf Blitzer's monotone
this year as Bush's car proceeded through the streets:

"Here comes the car holding George W. Bush. There are people holding up signs, here's one that says "Worst President Ever," here's another sign that says "War Criminal."

He might as well have been at a bar ordering "Martini straight up, no olive." You would think the fact that the streets were lined with people holding signs saying "War Criminal" might have been a huge story, I guess he didn't want to get on Karl Rove's bad side.

at the top of his voice for at least two minutes until Wolf pretended to have audio problems.
