(TBN) Station's neighbors complain about noise

Station's neighbors complain about noise

*Councilwoman suggests that the city reconsiders TBN's permit after hearing groans about noise.

By Alicia Robinson, Daily Pilot

Neighbors of Trinity Broadcasting Network are once again complaining that the religious center is praising the Lord a little too loudly, and on Tuesday the Costa Mesa City Council just might listen.

Formally named the Trinity Christian Center but commonly known as TBN, the organization operates from a large complex on Bear Street abutting the San Diego (405) Freeway. The center operates under a permit that prohibits activities after 10 p.m. and restricts the hours for other operations.

Since moving broadcasting and other operations to Costa Mesa in 1996, TBN has battled with a handful of neighbors in an adjacent housing development, who complained about lights and noise from the center's activities.

2. Not to mention that god-awful tacky-ass set
I've never seen so much gold-leafing in all my life.
I admit it though, I do occasionally tune in with the mute button on to see if that woman's hair is going to be pink, lavendar or a shade of light blue.

5. Certain organizations are tough to quiet down.

For example, every summer the ice-cream truck comes to my neighborhood with that "Pop Goes-the-Weasel" soundtrack over-and-over-and-over-and-over again. It drives me nuts!
People have been complaining about that truck for years, but no-one in the city wants to punish the ice-cream man.

Last Summer I was to busy helping Kerry prepare to surrender, but THIS year that ice-cream truck is going down!!!

Before I get a bunch of "But think of the children" replies: You try to deal with "Pop Goes the Weasel" for six hours a day 7-days a week. It makes all the normal things an adult wants to do in their back-yard impossible: You can't take a nap in the hammock, you can't weed the vegetable garden, you can't meditate and listen to the birds.

All you hear is "da dum de dum de dum de de dum de dum de dum de dum dum."

I'm actually twitching as I write this!

7. Be CAREFUL!!!
The Ice Cream Truck lobby is a POWERFUL organization, rumoured to have underworld ties...there are valid reasons that "no-one in the city wants to punish the ice-cream man...."

11. People who don't live in my neighborhood don't understand.
When I mention it to non-West Ashevillers, they say: "How can you be such a meanie to the ice-cream man?"

That's when I invite them to my house for a BBQ: 10 minutes of exposure, and they wonder out loud why anyone hasn't taken a bazooka to the damn truck by now.

10. One thing I've never been able to figure out
How does the guy who drives the ice cream truck manage to hear that damn "Pop Goes the Weasel" all day, every day without going feaking insane? You would think that instead of "going postal" we would have the expression "going ice cream man"!

13. oh reeeallyyy?
Jan is the worst drag queen I have ever seen. I used to tell my husband how scary it must be to watch her undress before bed at night
"wig" check
"get the trowel honey I have to remove my face" check
Its mind boggling, the hypocrisy.
Sadly, little old ladies in Tuscon send their monthly pension checks on a regular basis to these sheisters.

15. IMHO many women on the right
either look like ageing drag queens or , in the case of Karen Hughes and Ann Coulter, men.
