Super Nanny AND Nanny 911.

Dysfunctional American families are the entertainment choice du jour.

And these little kids are violent. One nearly suffocated her brother. Lots of kicking and slapping.

Madness abounds in Bush's America.

I never could understand suburbia's need for nannies. Seems like the self-absorbed, materialistic yuppies, rat-racing, keeping-it-up-with-the-(Bob?)Joneses don't want to look after their own kids, then blame the "evil libruls" for the social problems when their spoiled little brats develop into headcases.

Mind you, this is just my working class, city dweller's perspective. No need to be offended if you happen to be a suburbanite. :)

2. I used to live in suburbia, and I agree with you
I eventually had to escape, because those zombies drove me f*cking crazy. Homogeneous, group-thinking, materialistic yuppies solidly committed to the cult of oneupmanship. Ugh.

Plus, they're part of the cult of child-worship. Don't get me wrong; I love my kiddo fiercely. Don't get between the mama bear and the baby bear. :) But you know what I mean--these hysterical moms trying to out-do each other with special schools, safety devices, unknown ailments that require going to camp...ack.

It is truly sick, and I'm glad to be away!

4. I think some liberal daycare that teaches sharing and patience is in order
Oh...but we can't be teaching our kids stuff like that. We need to develop their craving for consumer goods and encourage agressive behavior so they will make good soldiers.

3. Not bush. reagan.
The latch key kids of the mtv generation of "greed" and "me" became parents.

5. Why do people who hate kids have so many?
I feel sorry for these kids. They just reflect what they see.

6. "When a man's in the house, then all the bullshit stops"
Some might interpret those Public Enemy lyrics as mildly sexist, but I think if those parents would just develop some nerve, this wouldn't happen with their kids.

Yes, we got stuck watching Supernanny. We have become a nation of extremes - if parents aren't smashing their children's feet with hammers or beating them shitless with belt buckles, they're cowering and simpering and catering to their brats' every demand. Can we please have a return to some sort of rational, constructive parenting?!?
