ENOUGH already with the Baseball players
Personally I don't care whether they take steroids or not. Test them..don't test them..If they are stupid enough to do that, they deserve to suffer the side effects. Just start putting all the "records" in the books with a "steroid disclaimer" can let people decide for themselves if the records are worth caring about at all.

Part of the "problem" could be addressed if they made sports about ADULTS again. If they set a minimum age of 21 for joining professional sports of ANY kind, there might not be as many teenagers taking steroids in hopes of "growing faster" to get in on the big bucks..

Congress really has more important things to consider right now..

There are so many "non-issues" wasting time while the really impornat things just carry on behind the scenes while our attention is diverted by the stupid stuff..

2. You're right, unfortunately
it's going to end up being just another distraction to keep our eyes off of the fire while the country burns down around us.

3. If we are talking about a handful of pumped up athletes
...we AREN'T talking about the 1,500++ dead young uniformed Americans who come home in flag draped transfer tubes. We aren't talking about a potential war in Iran. We aren't talking about being the bully of the world. We aren't talking about an energy crisis of major proportions. We aren't talking about the rich getting richer, poor getting poorer.

This is just one of the emperor's attempts at giving us bread and circuses. Problem is, not everyone in America gives as much of a shit about baseball as he does.

He's tossing us a bone that is flavored to HIS liking.

4. I beg to differ. I prefer this Congress and this President spend as much
time dealing with baseball as possible. Every time they vote on something we get screwed.

10. Hmm, that's a pretty darn good point.
I guess that we need to be careful what we wish for! ;)

13. No matter WHAT they "are working on",
the real nasty stuff is being "worked on" behind closed doors.. Then while we're all spinning our wheels on nonsense, they bring out the ugly stuff, vote on it and we don't know what hit us..

16. Yep. It's amazing how fast they can get that crap through, too.
Congress is gridlock until something Bush wants done is introduced. Then, it's slammed right through in no time.

12. yes, Jon Stewart called them on this last night.
pretty funny, had the clip of one of the repuke congress flunkies saying "we can investigate anything we want" and Stewart said, something like, so " you have abu ghraib, no WMD's, Niger/yellowcake/Plamegate, whatever, and you chose to investigate BASEBALL?"

14. So
you really aren't interested that the FBI informed the owners of MLB that there players were taking steriods. The time frame the FBI was in contact with MBL might overlap the time a certain moran was owning a certain Texas team. The certain owner claims not to have known that this was going on. That the owners were clearly making tons of money from the increased attendence that steriod popping numbers seem to be bringing.

15. Knowing it an proving it are two different things, and
if being a deserter in wartime is no biggie, then juicing up soome baseball players will not be anything either.
