Twin Cities Protest Photos
Edited on Sun Mar-20-05 01:58 PM by katinmn
Lots of honking for the folks on the overpass

Bush = Devil

In the midst of the crowd

Bagpipes rule!

The crowd stretched for a couple blocks long

The St. Paul Neighbors Peace Walk and Vigil followed at sunset

Pop Wagner, an old time and bluegrass musician led us in a couple songs

2. I only saw one, and he was chatting up some protestors
I guess they didn't get the memo that there would be unruly crowds, violence and looting.:)

3. I thank God Mayor Bush had Chicago prepared.....
....I understand the police bagged a couple dangerous epitaph-throwing pacifists. One was a Quaker and the other a United Church of Christ minister. Whoo-hoo! How's that for preserving disorder.

Seriously, my wife family hails from MN. She comes from a long line of draft dodging Norweigans going all the way back to the days they resisted enforced conscription by Sweden.

5. Strong-arming Quakers and ministers is pretty sad.
:crazy:

Yah! Norwegians are strong willed with a lot of common sense. Plus, they tend to be Lutherans rather than fundies. I'm a second generation Norwegian-German mix. I have stubbornness in my genes. :)

I haven't been to a Lutheran church in a while so I wonder what their preachers are saying about the mess we're in.

11. I'll have my wife get back to you on that she's the expert on Lutherans
Although she not actively pastoring, she's a Lutheran minister and has been a pastor in West Branch, IA and in Chicago. I know she's pissed that although the ELC (as opposed to the Missouri Synod which is more fundamentalist)at the beginning of the war wrote a letter denounced the war in Iraq, it has not done anything since. What further pisses her off is that the congregation she is a member of in Chicago, while being in one of the most liberal neighborhoods in Chicago (Hyde Park) has done nothing and the pastor won't even answer her emails announcing the lastest progressive misadventure we're working on.
