1. I think you may have just stumbled onto their master plan.
Take away the entire safety net, and force people to pray that they make it to tomorrow.

2. Seems I recall a study already being done on this
'No health benefit' from prayer

Patients did not know they were prayed for
The world's largest study into the effects of prayer on patients undergoing heart surgery has found it appears to make no difference.
The MANTRA study, run from Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina, involved 750 patients.

Before their operations, they were randomly split into two groups, and half were prayed for by Christians, Jews, Buddhists and Muslims.

However, checks revealed they had fared no better than those not prayed for.

3. More superstition from the media. Don't believe any thing they
say. They're just promoting their new series "Pray for the President," an interactive show involving faith healing, faith based debt reduction, and speaking in tongues. News and entertainment work together to bring you a totally autonomous universe of misconceptions and useless information. Thank you Dateline.

I won't be there watching your ads tonight. I wish could say I'm sorry, but it would be a lie.

10. Why?
Its the law of the jungle...survival fo the fittest...dog eat dog...cannibals cannibalizing cannibals... They paid for the air time, they can take their loss.

8. Southern novelist Harry Crews said (in "The Gospel Singer"):
Pray in one hand, and shit in t'other .. and see which hand fills up first. The Dateline NBC topic tonight should be: "We Grease the Skids Toward a Bu$hco Theocracy."

9. The usefulness of prayer for the sick has been
debunked years ago. Studies indicate again and again that there is no difference between people who get prayed for and people who don't. What does make a difference are people with connections to other people. People with strong social networks tend to do better. A lot of those people have others praying for them thus the unsubstantiated correlation. But as we have seen with other obvious scientific facts, repukes will believe any useless piece of superstition in order to promote their lies.
