freepers-in-training try to disrupt KC protest

I just returned from the Kansas City protest (very good turnout - probably around 400, lots of honks and thumbs-up from passing motorists) and I'm PISSED.

A group of 4 teenaged boys, all bearing pro-war signs, circulated around the crowd. Most of us just politely asked them when they planned on enlisting (I asked one wearing cammo why he supported the war; he said because these people 'attacked us' - pure ignorance). It was fairly peaceful, though, until the speaker's program and 3 of them assembled behind the speaker, one with a huge sign that said "THIS GROUP HATES OUR COUNTRY".

Needless to say, this sign was extremely inflammatory and quite a few took off in the kid's direction. One elderly woman tried to rip it from his hands. The speaker told the crowd that we had a permit, and they'd figure out a legal way to work it out. Since there wasn't a cop in sight, there wasn't much anyone could do (this was a counter-demonstration, and they should have gotten their own permit - plus they were inciting a riot). Some kid with a camcorder (his sign said "WAR IS PEACE WITH GUNS") was filming it, no doubt hoping there would be violence so he'd get it all on film.

These little punks must be really pleased with themselves tonight. No doubt they were planning on us being peaceful and just taking their stupid-ass shit - but the crowd swarmed them and held their signs over them. It was still going on when I left.

Notice to freeper assholes: we're mad as hell, and we're not taking it anymore.

A very quick glance at the history books explains what was going on there. Of course, opening a book is one thing Freeper types rarely bother doing.

In Mein Kampf Hitler talks about why he called his party socialist (because at the time thats all German workers trusted), had a red flag and so forth. Of course it was all about co-option, he had no sympathy for socialism, the workers movements and so forth, and admitted as much.

I'm wondering exactly how many really support Bush and his policies. I think it's a very small number. Even the anti-abortion protests are small numbers when they muster up a protest.

Too bad there's no way to really find out.

3. Protest Worriers?

There are people out there who protest protests - they call themselves "Protest Warriors". I call them "Protest Worriers" because they seem to be very worried about these protests. These people are so hateful and malicious in the Little Green Footballs vein, I wouldn't even lump the FR crowd in with them (some of whom are as malicious, all of whom are as insane).

Their web site is http://www.protestwarrior.com . I keep close tabs on them when they come to my town. Right wingers don't really go out on the streets - they're happier taking orders and letting other people do their thinking for them, so PWers have to glom on to our actions.

The little jackass has his camcorder shoved in my face (he was doing this to a lot of people there - somebody almost knocked it to the ground). Maybe if we're lucky they'll get their photos taken tonight for a mug shot.
