Hillary Clinton's Speech on C-span (Re: Judges)
Did anyone else catch C-span last night? They aired a speech that Senator Clinton gave last week regarding the right-wing zealots and their desire to stifle debate on Bush's judicial nominations.

Moveon.org invited Sen. Clinton to speak, and she was brilliant. She basically said that we have to fight like all get out against the GOP's attempts to just push Bush's judicial nominations through without debate.

But the most interesting part of her speech, for me, came when she recounted a conversation that a Republican Senator recently had with someone in Iraq.

She said that one of her Republican colleagues was over in Iraq recently, and was asked by an Iraqi how they can protect minority rights when forming the new government. The Iraqi was referring to the rights of those who will be in the minority parties in Iraq once the new govt is formed. And get this! The Republican said "You need a filibuster."

Sen. Clinton paused for effect when she recounted her colleague's "You need a filibuster" line. It was brilliant, and the MoveOn crowd loved it!
