Freepers debate the war. Really.
Something strange is going on in Freeperville, reasonable comments from posters?

Neo-cons have hijacked US foreign policy
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/982362/posts?page=106

There is a fair share of hysterical drivel in the posts, but scattered throughout is some sort of debate about preemption and neo-cons. The strangest part of all is that the whole thread has been going on for over a day and it does not blindly support the “gassed his own people” dogma.

Why is debate about the invasion of Iraq being tolerated there?

2. Exactly, lol!
MONEY is what's finally getting people to wake up to this misadministration. Last week, after Shrub's speech, I was totally speechless when a Freak Republic thread was posted on here and the freeps were actually foaming at the mouth against Shrub! Some were even talking about their doubt over Iraq's possession of WMD's and the necessity of the war. One asked "Does this man have no concept of money", and another said "I will never vote for him again, I don't like being lied to and I don't like being robbed!"

Money does, indeed, talk, and money does, indeed, and very unfortunately, make the world go 'round!

3. Like I said on another Thread....
Who are you and what have you done with the REAL FREEPERS?

I mean I've been reading some strange (for Wingnuts) things over there recently...descent, outright contempt, TREASON, if you will, (by Orphan Annie's standards anyway)

Amazing...I think I'm going to invite some of these guys to be my friends...

N-N-N-N-N-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T

But they really do sound more reasonable...unbelievable huh?

12. You hit the nail on the head!
They are all for war as long as:
1) they or their kids don't have to go fight it
2) they don't have to pay for it, or if they do, it's cheap
3) there's lots of killing, but few Americans die, and it's over in a month.

5. This exchange was telling
Freeper 1:
"Boston Bob is as delusional as Baghdad Bob. Planes were hijacked. Americans were killed. The same MO was used many times on different scales during the previous administration and Clinton, the socio-con, diddled."

Freeper 2:
"Nice dodge, I don't know who you're fooling but is isn't me."

10. Funny, the only airplanes crashing into buildings under Bill
(as pointed out by freeper 1) was the Cessna that crashed into the White House.

You'd think, if Freeper 1 would provide links, then that would appear to be a major error on this misAdministrations' foresight.

6. Bad reflexes.
Man, their reflexes are slow over there! The rest of us starting kicking and jerking the day after inauguration when WA started changing foreign aid policy to medical clinics by executive order. It took an $87 billion reflex hammer over the head to get these folks to look twice.

8. While I won't deign to go to that site
As I recall, the owner of the site, Jim Robinson, is on record as saying that since we're in a real, live war (lol, he'd pee his pants if he got within 500 miles of a real war), no criticism of the Chimp in Chief will be brooked. Tantamount to treason, and all that, you know.

The safe thing at FR is to blame the neocons, or the hawks or just about anyone except the Dear Leader, about whom no criticism is allowed. Of course, that begs the question of just how all these people are allowed to run amok in the Bush administration, but if you're looking for logical, consistent thinking, FR is not the place to go.
