I love watching Keith Olbermann for hours on end
:D

Seriously, he's doing a bang-up job - like he did on 9/11. He's only had one fundie on in hours of coverage and has spent most of his time reviewing an interesting and intriguing life or talking, intelligently, with intelligent people.

And, in the mischevious form of both Keith and the Pope and those who like one or both of them, I've watched as Keith is getting a second wind and is becoming more hopeful that the Pope has once again beaten the odds and fooled us all.

We should all send him notes of thanks. I have spent an evening actually enjoying news coverage (not the dismal expectation of death, but the COVERAGE) for the first time in YEARS! No screaming, no yelling, no wingnuttery - just NEWS.

This is contentment.

1. I signed up to get his daily e-mail alert
I figured it's one way to show MSNBC he's got devoted fans. (Even though I usually delete them without reading them....it's the thought that counts....)

2. I agree. He is absolutely fabulous! What a bang up job!
except for Scarborough, MSNBC in general has done the best job, but Keith is super! He always asks the questions people want to know the answer to!

9. I've seen the show a few times
and really enjoy it. :) Keith is one of the true reporters out there. I rank him up there with Greg Palast and Jon Stewart and everybody on AAR.

4. He's doing great
I'm very impressed with the questions he has been coming up with. And the lineup of guests that he has been talking to have generally been interesting as well.

TVNewser thought the "poignant opening" that has been playing at the top of the hour was worth posting, as well: http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/the_pope/pope_olbermanns_poignant_opening_20066.asp

7. That is the BEST opening!
I emailed him earlier and asked for a copy of that - of course, he's been on the air ever since, so I haven't heard back.
Thanks for posting this!

My MOTHER - Mrs. I'm-a-Southern-liberal-Democrat-JohnFKennedy-loving-love-this-pope-but-want... wind .... reproduction-rights-churchandstate-separation... whew... wants a copy of this. She and I both bawled like babies after hearing this.

Thank YOU!

6. Honey, he's been on all night and is on now.

Turn it over!

He's the lead anchor on Popewatch!

They only broke for two hours so Squintborough could spew some right-wing crap. Keith's been on save those two hours of Squint Country since 6 p.m.!!!

8. Keith is so far superior in his approach to covering the deaths of
TS and now the pope, there really is no comparison at all. This is no fluke - he won an award for his coverage of the 9/11 tragedy too. The people who think his following is only because of his humor and funny stories are really missing the boat. He's REAL. Nobody else on TV has been REAL since Walter Cronkite retired.

He's the best. Simply the best. I hope more people discover him - there's a great craving for honesty and genuineness, and he's water in the desert.

11. He's the second Cornell grad that has impressed me tremendously...
The first Cornell grad was my ex-boss. Having a love for language, I'll never forget how much I enjoyed reading each proposal of his before typing them. Cornell grads have great minds. :)

14. Hi - what are you doing up so late?
I'm waiting for news of the pope which is coming up in about 10 min. I slept for a while earlier, but woke up and can't go back to sleep.

Keith was such a breath of fresh air today. I love him even more now and have a deeper respect for him in the way he has handled this story. I hope they give all the big stories to him from now on!

Hope you are doing well!:hi:
