"Science by peer pressure is dangerous but sometime (sic) it is necessary," says one message, by a second scientist at the geological survey.

"This is as good as it's going to get. If they need more proof, I will be happy to make up more stuff."

Who can you trust? People have lost trust over the years in priests -and not all are bad of course - just stating my opinion based on things I have seen both in the news and personal life - and of course the news only talks about the bad things people do it seems. 10,000 good priests or scientists who do the right thing and no one cares - one or two bad and they get on the nightly news.

Overall though the point between scientists and priests (and this thread) is that people turn to those who know the subject matter the best for guidance and answers to things (not just these two groups, I just happend to be reading the news and thinking about the pope at same time so I chose those two professions.) Given the news last few years both groups seem to have taken a beating.

Just makes me wonder how many judge the varied groups and professions - by those who do wrong by it, or those who do good? Perhaps we judge based on how we want the outcome to be and cling to such stories as we find relevant to our cause.

1. It’s not as complicated as that.. It’s actually quite simple..
This isn’t about professions of people or of faith, but manipulation. Under normal conditions scientific institutions generally work as they are designed to and are quite reliable. However, when people are made to answer to an agenda, this sort of behavior becomes SOP across the board- whether it be the media, an oversight agency, or the Supreme Court.
