I hope the new Pope
is the Nigerian dude. Just because Africa is such a mess. Otherwise I'm totally uneducated on this matter. Just think he has a cool vibe and that continant really needs help.

Okay you can flame me now. Woohoo.

8. yeah I hear you
but sheesh, it's the Vatican after all. They're not necessarily progressive. I'm just thinking about how little attention we pay to the suffering of Africans whilst we waste our time arguing about Shiavo and Jacko and Peterson and all that sensationalistic stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I care deeply about victimization but these issues are largely familial when there is so much suffering in the world.

I just feel that the plight of Africa could use some more attention.

yeah it would be great to have an Arabic Christian as well, but that's a total long shot.

9. I know. I would like to see a Latin American Pope
Also, I go crazy when they start comparing the Pope's stances as being spot on with El Chimpereror (:eyes:).

11. And a younger Pope-young meaning in his 40s.
That is young for a Pope.

2. He's even more conservative than John Paul, or so they said
on the news, but so is the German Cardinal who is being touted as the other replacement.

5. More than likely, the new pope will be older,
thus serving a shorter term than JP2. That's ususally the pattern the Church uses, or so I just heard on the news.

10. Beast Man
Yeah I heard that theory as well. . .that they'd pick an older dude just 'cause JP II was in office so-o-o long. Twenty-six years to be precise. Folks were saying that they needed more of a transitional dude now. Time will tell as it generally does.

12. This is a real possibility
because there has been more growth of catholicism in Africa than anywere else on earth in recent years, whereas church membership has been declining in Europe and North America.
