aww... anybody watch McLaughlin group this weekend?
I just watched it (thanks Tivo!) and was shocked to see the tribute at the end to Eleanor Clift's husband, who died last Wednesday. She recorded the show on Friday - at John McLaughlin's request, who asked her to do the show to honor her husband.

She never mentioned his illness or his death during the show, even though they were discussing the Pope's imminent death and Terri Schiavo's death the day before.

What a trouper.... I like Eleanor Clift. And how classy to discuss those subjects without mentioning a word about her husband.

2. That blew me away too
I had no inkling that was coming. I noticed at the end as the camera was pulling away and the lights were dimming I saw her head tilt a little and her body move in a way that made me think she was tearing up.

3. yeah
I saw that, too.

it had to have been very difficult for her. As far as I know, she hasn't missed any recent shows. She just kept going on, and I had no idea what she was going through personally.

Makes me hate Tony Blankley even more for being an insufferable prick to her all the time.

5. Tony Blankley is always an insufferable prick.
I watched it last Saturday when it was broadcast here in Chicago, but I missed the part about Eleanor's husband.

Here's to Eleanor:
