Who thinks Bolten is going to have to "take one for the team"?
I think he is toast and about to be tossed overboard by Bush. Makes him a right wing martyr and detracts (however briefly) from the Bush failures and the Bugman.

2. In a logical White House, Yes indeedy. Not so sure about *co.
I mean, he should step down. He's not going to get out of committee and he's already tarnished one of the few 'respected' Republican Senators, Lugar, who was made the fool this week. However, these guys got away with stealing two presidential elections. Do you think that their sense of omnipotence and entitlement has abated in favor of rationality?

4. I think more and more that Bolton is the innoculation for Negroponte
Nominate a bunch of really bad guys for a lot of posts. Leave one swinging in the wind. Sort of as an offering. And an innoculation for the rest. Now if the Dems go to the mat against Negroponte it will be wall to wall Reopublican meme of "there they go again." Sorry but that is what I see coming.

The only thing, by allowing Negroponte through to his Iraq post they allowed him just that much more rope to hang himself. It just has to come to light. Which may be the problem. GOP is good at keeping a lid on their intentional fuck ups.

5. Oy Vay! If they're this complex, they shall crumble soon under the
weight of their own duplicity.
