About contacting senators... (?)
I always see posts here on DU about how we should contact this list of senators or that list. I've noticed that the senators webpages often say that it is the general policy of the Senate to send messages from people outside of their state on to the senators from that state. So, has anyone from say, Ohio, who emailed Biden (Delaware) about being a weasel actually got a response from Biden? Or does it seem like it would just be going to Voinovich or DeWine. Do you understand my question?

i.e. is it worthwhile for me (from PA) to email someone like Biden?

Thanks in advance.

1. They are ALL sensitive to how they're seen, nationwide....
Especially if they hav eNational aspirations, like Biden does.
Write to 'em all! A lot!

2. Since my senators, Burns and Baucus, seem to send replies which have
nothing to do with the subject I wrote about, sometimes I get irritated enough to write to my old senator from when I lived in AZ. Always start any message with "Although I no longer live in AZ..." McCain/his staff ALWAYS send a prompt, on topic reply which has never sounded like the canned, general and inappropriate responses I get from my current senators.

And I always thank McCain/staff for their response and help. Sad that I can't get a straight word from Baucus on ANY subject I communicate about. I seem to have been put on Burns' mailing list where I read about what a swell guy he is. :puke:

Time for us DEMS in MT to find somebody besides the tired DINO Baucus. Am hoping we can hold Burns' feet to the neocon fire and get his ass replaced next year. The natives where I live are getting restless about his rubber stamping of policies which make a mockery of the Constitution. But, boy oh boy, he's damned proud of getting gravel poured on a road in our county.

Don't know about other Senators/staff, but McCain/staff do respond directly to me. I am grateful, though I disagree with McCain on much.
