"War president" Bush runs to bunker after radar blip
http://www.swissinfo.org/sen/swissinfo.html?siteSect=143&sid=5727535&cKey=1114644017000

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush was hustled from the Oval Office and into an underground shelter on Wednesday after a blip on a radar screen was initially mistaken for an aircraft entering the restricted airspace around the White House, officials said.

The Secret Service determined minutes later that it was a false alarm. A flock of birds or a reflection could have caused the blip. Officials said the investigation was ongoing.

Vice President Dick Cheney also was moved to a secure location as Secret Service agents, some with shotguns drawn, cleared the area in front of the presidential mansion.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was in the underground bunker for a "very short amount of time." He said he believed it was the first time Bush had been taken to the shelter since the September 11, 2001, attacks.

17. On Sept 11th
George bush* left a wide trail of YELLOW urine across half of America in a terrified dash to "Get out of Harms Way"! His cowardly behavior was so embarrassing that Republicans invented a cover story to explain his panic. They said that Air Force 1 was being targeted by terrorists. This story was a COMPLETE FABRICATION. There were NO REPORTS from ANYONE that Air Force 1 was targeted by ANYBODY!

bush* panicked and RAN for a spider hole!

I was watching CBS Nightly News. They repeated the LIE from the WhiteHouse that bush* had used the bunker on Sept11TH.
I was PISSED. I am cursed to be an American with a memory!!!

3. Just like a homing pigeon returning to the sticking coup...
After 9/11, Bush instinctively knows where that bunker is!

No doubt once again he was "getting out of harm's way..."

What a pathetic POS...

5. Run away! Run away!
It must be tough for Little George to run, seeing's how he's such a Manly Man with nads the size of basketballs.

So what I want to know is, if this hadn't been a false alarm but, say, an ICBM, would everybody else in DC just have to die? That would be OK as long as The Chimperor and Frankencheney were safe?

7. If one were to do such a thing
one should be sure not to leave one's fingerprints on it.

8. Big Ed said today
That dubby was seen going to the bunker with his copy of "My Pet Goat".
Rather coincidental that Cheney showed up after all the fuss was over. He must have been behind the curtain.

9. Kind of reminds me of this from Monty Python
MINSTREL:
Brave Sir Robin ran away,
ROBIN:
No!
MINSTREL:
Bravely ran away, away.
ROBIN:
I didn't!
MINSTREL:
When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
ROBIN:
No!
MINSTREL:
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
ROBIN:
I didn't!
MINSTREL:
And gallantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet,
ROBIN:
I never did!
MINSTREL:
He beat a very brave retreat,
ROBIN:
All lies!
MINSTREL:
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.

11. yet they let him continue to read that book on 9/11
you just would of thought that they would have rushed him out of there. It was the second plane. It was obvious that it was no accident by that time.

14. And last week...
...he was scared off by a thunderstorm in the Great Smokies. Yep, the most powerful person in the world let a little thunderstorm keep him from his appointment. Anyone of us would have been fired if we came up with an excuse like that.

"No sir, I didn't show because it was raining"

"You're Fired!"

15. Standard procedure - I'm sure
Far be it from me to say anything in defense of President Bush, but come on. This was not his call and that bunker is there for that very purpose.

16. Right, he was taken there by secret service.
Some of you people are straight up irrational. If the same thing happened to Clinton, would you all judge? If anything, the fact this was so widely reported (even the local news here in Raleigh spent like four minutes on this idiocy) is what deserves to be criticized, not the White House's standard operating procedure for potential threats.
