Henry Kissinger and war crimes
I have a question for you all. I was doing some reading for my international relation class and one of the articles I have to read is by Henry Kissinger on why the international court and other organizations is a bad idea, entitled, "The pitfalls of Universal jurisdiction". For some reason he doesn't seem reliable, due to the fact I vaguely remember him having to do with some time of war crimes himself. that is way he seems unreliable it seems self serving for him. I did a goggle search on him and war crimes and they do seem to be connected Am I right about this? Thank you for reading this.

1. he hasn't served time, but his fingers were in the pies of
Suharto's Indonesia, the invasion of East Timor, the coup against Allende in Chile, support for other pro-Nazi South American dictatorships, definite support and okaying the Dirty War in Argentina, the bombing of Cambodia, and the Greek junta's attempted seizure of Cyprus.

4. You left off the Paris Peace Accord which he and Nixon
violated which led to POWs being stranded in Viet Nam.

3. Exactly. Kissinger, like Bush, wouldn't support things like world courts
because they know they would be subject to them for their own war crimes.

5. Henry Kissinger on the ICC.
Listening to Kissinger on the ICC would be like listening to Tommy Chong on the subject of drug laws - only not funny.

6. Kissinger is
scared shitless of "universal jurisdiction" - hence the "pitfalls".
