Roswell Report
Edited on Sun May-01-05 03:03 PM by Jara sang
Fact Versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert

Addresses the request made by Representative Steven H. Schiff for information regarding the "Roswell Incident," an alleged crash of an unidentified flying object (UFO) in New Mexico in July 1947. Contains two narratives: The Report of the Air Force Research Regarding the "Roswell Incident" by Col. Richard L. Weaver; and the Synopsis of Balloon Research Findings by 1st Lt. James McAndrew. The Air Force contends that the UFO's were experimental balloons used in "Project Mogul". Item 422-M.
Price: $ 69.50

Isn't this like the Air Force disputing the existence of gremlins, pixies or faeries? So why are they going out of their way to discredit objects that purportedly do not exist? The Air Force's relationship with UFO's, which culminated in the Project Bluebook files, is another instance in a long line that involve the U.S. government's fascination with the occult. Another project that comes to mind is the CIA's experiments with "remote viewing". Does the intelligence community/U.S. government have a fascination with the paranormal?

1. it is proper for the Air Force to clear the air
For many years the U.S. Air Force took advantage of the UFO mythos to provide cover for the development of classified projects.

It is only proper when the projects are declassified that the government reveal the true story behind the myth. The public should not be fed fairy tales any longer than absolutely necessary for reasons of national security.

By the way, you can see one of the "UFOs" from Project Mogul/Roswell on display in the National Atomic Museum in New Mexico. This "secret" has not been a secret for some time now.

If the Air Force had used myths of pixies or faeries to conceal atomic testing or other devices, then it would need to address those myths also. I'm not aware that this is the case.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.
--John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-72
