but keep fighting in other ways. Keep the noise loud and clear to your coworkers, your senators, the newspapers. If we at least go on record registering our objections to these continued abuses of power by a guy who BARELY got elected and a GOP party that BARELY has a majority in the senate, then we can shift the policy back toward the center.
That isn't to the left yet...but at this point we're stuck with reaching equilibrium before we can force real change on other fronts that are more ambitious.
I believe these aggressive postures by GOP are precisely the same kind of thing they like to point to about the insurgents in Iraq. Their ferocity and tenacity is directly related to the idea they realize the end game for them is near.
The demographics of this country in another 10 years or 20 years don't really point to an electorate favorable to stodgy Republicanism as we knew it in the past and DEFINITELY not the radical right wing-ism we see now.
So keep the faith....tell your senators the $$$ dry up unless they f*cking get some results this time instead of discussing near misses and moral victories...but keep the pressure on. Make them fight. for you. the people.
