Here's something you won't hear on Fox News -- ratings for the cable news channel have been plummeting since before the November election.
According to TV Newser, the number of people watching Fox during prime time in the 25 to 54 age bracket dropped in April for the sixth straight month.

TV Newser...totals for Fox's primetime audience in the 25 to 54 age bracket:

Oct. 04: 1,074,000;
Nov. 04: 891,000;
Dec. 04: 568,000;
Jan. 05: 564,000;
Feb. 05: 520,000;
March 05: 498,000;
April 05: 445,000.

That amounts to a decline of 58 percent, with no sign of leveling off. What the press release didn't say is that we can add 629,000 people to those who don't watch Fox.

Fox's plunging ratings should be a warning to those cable stations trying to copy the news channel's conservative Republican slant. People are tired of it.

what are the ratings overall for all the cable news shows...if a similar decline is registered, then your point is skewed...I note that you did not post this, so knowing your style of posting, I am sure that your post is your typical bullshit...the last time you posted this with your usual glee, the numbers were for O'Rielly, and they showed an up turn....you can keep on wishin and hopein Lynn, but no matter what the numbers are, the left is dying out....your minority staus is on the upswing, and soon you will be a irrelevant spec in the mirror...what the hell, you are now...

3. Radio Ratings Are Even Worse

A couple points from an old media hound...

You are correct...Faux's ratings have been in a constant slide since last fall (58% from what I recall), and so have the other cable networks (they don't let you know that one...LOL)...as people have been tuning away from all these channels. Ironically network television viewership (NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, UPN, WB) is up after years of decline. Go figger.

Next, the largest number of viewers Faux draws is about 2 million viewers. That's 2 million nationally. The local ABC affiliate newscast in New York draws twice as many people . Also compared to other cable networks...MTV and ESPN specifically, all these channels have a fraction of their audience. Yep, numbers can and are distorted.

Even more interesting are the poor numbers many hate radio stations are getting. One company, Salem, the home of such "lovelies" as Ingraham, Medved, Savage, Bennett and other hate mongers are tanking big time in most major markets. In Chicago, with a 5,000 watt signal, they were beat by small suburban stations...and I expect the new AAR affiliate to beat them as well. The same is the case in New York, Portland, Miami and Seattle. The Radio & Records website has all the ratings and just look for "Salem" at the bottom of the list.

6. Look At the "Competition"

I should go grab the numbers, but the coffee hasn't kicked in yet. LOL. (Sidenote: I just looked for the CNN blog and it's vanished...that had the best set of numbers around). Anyway, the ratings that are generally cited are from 7pm-11pm ET...and the only networks that are grouped together are Faux, CNNServative, MSGOP and CNBC.

at 7pm you have the Shep dude on Faux, Cooper on CNNServative and Tweety on MSGOP. I don't see no liberal media in that bunch (I'm usually watching NewsHour at that time...and even that's kool-aided now)

at 8pm it O'Reilly, Zahn and Olbermann...the only real alternative programming in the entire Prime Time on ANY network. KO's numbers, like the rest of MSGOP's are a fraction of Faux, but there's many factors at play here (Faux is on more cable systems) and KO's numbers are either comprable or better than Scarborough and not too far off of Tweety's.

At 9pm, it's Insannity and Strawman on Faux, Larry King Dead on CNNServative (Joyce Meyer last night? Who watches this tripe?) and the latest time filler on MSGOP (Abrams). Again I don't see much liberal/progressive lean here.

Lastly at 10pm, it's Greedy Van Sustrain on Faux, Gimpy Brown (and I used to have a lot of respect for Aaron until he went "big time" at CNN...now he's bitter at everyone and everything and it shows) and Joey the Intern Killer. Thank goodness for Discovery, History Channel and several PBS outlets.

I loved it yesterday when Frank Lautenberg pulled out a chart that showed the number of people represented by Democratic Senators were several million more than Repugnicans. Of course they will deny any unpopularity since they know deep inside their support is built on fear and hate and can easily erode or feed upon itself.

8. Awhile back "common" demanded to know why I was "trying to change his

mind" by posting *gasp* FACTS and valid credible sources to those *gasp* FACTS coz he "wasn't gon chanj" his "mind irregardless".

One of my coworkers mentioned this morning she had to make her daughter a Betsy Ross costume for a school play. There were several of us listening - and then we hear "who is Betsy Ross?" Wouldn't you know it was the male Bush lover. :rofl:
