Interesting that this is on Pax.

Tom Cruise was excellent in this movie.

1. I thought that Pax was the fundie channel
Maybe I'm wrong about that. If Pax is the fundie channel then why would they run an anti-war movie? Someone trying to send Bush a message? Nah, no way.

That is excellent movie, BTW.

3. PAX is owned by NBC
it does tend toward family 'friendly' programming and late evening and early morning programs are religious but sometimes they have some good programs and movies on.

2. I have PAX parental blocked ...
So, no. :-)

I'll speculate that the people who run PAX don't really understand that the movie is an anti-war movie. I've encountered quite a number of people who don't. Figuring out how they miss that message is likely not worth anyone's time and could possibly cause aneurysms. However, I'll note that the same kind of people somehow got the idea that U2 was a Christian rock group when they first came on the scene and that Sunday, Bloody Sunday was about Jesus.

Go figure.

4. I was a bit turned of by PAX
When three weekends in a row they played movies that involved victims being attacked/killed by "psychotic/mentally ill" criminals. I just didn't like the whole stigma it set up....like no ordinary criminals exist anymore, only mentally ill ones.

5. I remember watching Kovic address the Democratic
National Convention in 1976. It was powerful and brought on the tears.

6. Where is Ron Kovic when we need him? We're in a pretty similar situation.
Seriously, where has he gone?
