are tolerated. The minute they step out of line, they are damned, smeared and bypassed.

Take for example, the UN Security Council. That body, for a long time, was a puppet manipulated by the U.S. and did what it was told. During the Iraq War, it grew a spine mainly through the efforts of the French and became an ogre in Bush's books.

A similar attack was launched on the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners. So long as we could make the Vietnamese captors of our prisoners look bad, it came in handy and our allegiance to those 'quaint' conventions were unquestionable. The minute we decided to torture the prisoners in Iraq, it became 'quaint' in the words of Alberto Gonzalez.

The cases of the U.S. Congress and Supreme court do not even need any explanation. They have been brought low by an opportunistic Elite that want them to rubber stamp what they are told.

The Press, of course, is a caricature. It does not even deserve an honorable mention in this pantheon of knaves.

1. It's a pretty well known fact....
that this administration cherry picks which laws it wants to follow and which ones they don't. It's the exact same way with international treaties. The ones that aid and abet BushCo. are hunky-dory, the ones that stand in the way of their twisted, illegal agenda are cast aside like old shoes.
It's always been "do as I say, not as I do" with Repukes. Sex, drugs, graft, election tampering...when done by Democrats are the sure sign of the coming "Rapture". When done by Repukes...."youthful indiscretions" or "outright lies". They are certainly the party of buck passing. Nothing bad is ever their fault, but anything good always has their hallmark on it. :eyes: Scoundrels, liars and cheats, it's what the Republican party is all about!
