Is there anyone who can help me with Windows Media?

Yesterday I could not listen to anything on Windows Media, on Safaria a note popped up stating file format is incorrect, on IE a note popped up stating channel does not support the stream. I tried downloading WM again, but the same thing happens.

I have a Mac OS X, Tiger.

1. You don't really say if this is a new problem that just

started happening or if you have never been able
to use Windows Media before.

just happened on Friday.

4. You might want to try repairing

file permissions with Apple's Disk Utility application. You'll find it, oddly enough, in Applications/Utilities. Messed up file permissions can cause various kinds of weirdness at both the application and system level. Give it a go. If you're still hosed after that, reinstall the MS app.

Never a bad idea to back up the ol' home directory! :)

Windows media is a mess. And if you can get it working now, it's guaranteed to not work with the files created by Microsofts next versions.

Sorry to sound so negative. Doubtless you can download the latest and greatest drivers and get everything working. But other formats, notably Quicktime, do a much better job of being forward compatible.

However, if you aren't the videos creator, you've little choice what format to use.
