I think my Freeper friend is embarrassed by Bush now
We have known one another since 2nd grade. We always argue politics and would e-mail articles to one another that showed something bad about the other side just to get under each others skin. All in fun of course. Before the elections he wrote me every day and for like a month after Bush won he was rubbing it in.

Lately I have been sending Bush's approval rating and one negative article after another. About a month ago his responses back were down to a trickle and in the last two weeks he has disappeared off the face of the earth.

He was blaming Bush's low approval rating on Gas prices until I sent him a poll that showed his approval rating on basically everything was in the "pathetic" zone. Social Security, Iraq, the economy, his address to the country a few weeks back. When Matt knows he is losing he gets depressed and quiet.

I think Matt is now so depressed about how Bush is doing he does not even want to talk about it.

1. Most of them are now.
Even the most delusional freepers are having a hard time keeping the fantasy alive that Bush is doing a good job.

Since Bush has gone to fundie-land , they find it hard to back him.

24. They like a good war to watch on tv.
It makes them feel proud to be Americans when we are bombing a defenseless third-world country.

However it is now apparent they do not want to actually sign up for military service. Almost 60 million people voted for Bush and war but the military is scraping the bottom of the barrel for recruits.

I can't wait till they hear about the draft.

Some of them are not just delusional, but they have that "Fox News" hypnotic smile. I recently invited a friend to join me in NYC for a week, and she said, "I hope I can go and see "Fox and Friends" while I am there. I love her dearly, but the invitation has been canceled! LOL

11. My friend Matt is a reasonable person
He lives in reality unlike the ditto heads. I don't think he cares for the Religious Right stuff either. He even admitted in one e-mail that when one party has all the power they start to go too far. I think he is unhappy in many ways.

Terry Schiavo case that she was very upset with all the religion the repukes are pushing. "I don't care what they believe, but they don't have any right to tell me what to believe." I couldn't help myself. I asked her why she expected anything different since he courted these zealots during the campaign. She's also very POd that they aren't doing anything about border control. She said she will probably not vote again since she cannot bring herself to vote Dem.

I think there are many more who will not admit they made a mistake. Hmmmmmm, just like the Dim-son they voted for! ha.

25. And we thought Dems were losing on moral values
now it seems completely turned around because Republicans pushed way too far from being perceived as Godly people to being perceived as Religious NUTS!!! Now Democrats look much more reasonable.

The American people are spiritual but they are not Fundamentalist Nut Cases. That is only about 20% of the population.

It gives me hope for this country.

15. a freeper friend dropped by today...
... Sarcastically I said: "How 'bout that Iraq? Man, are we kicking ass there. We've just about won that war, eh?" He slithered away as fast as he could.

The other day one of 'em said Clinton was to blame for the bad CIA Intel. Informed him that Bxsh #1 was head of CIA and it was still full of Bxsh people. Reminded him Carter was voted out of office because he warned us about oil and since then we've been manuevering to get all the oil we could. They are lying to us because they saw what happened to Carter. He couldn't argue anymore.

One more informed freeper, twenty two million nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine more to go.

12. A similar situation.....
Repug relatives at a recent gathering, who in the past liked to engage me in spirited debate, prefaced our meeting with the desire to not speak about politics. I agreed. This was a few days after I emailed them info, articles etc. about the DowningStreetMemo. Must have made an impression.

He is starting to turn against Bush because of high gas prices and the economy. A illegal war couldn't turn him against Bush but money issues can make him critical of Bush. Whatever.

20. After reading all these responses, all I have to say is
It doesn't matter.

Bush is in for four years, the country could have gone 100% against him the day after he was 're-elected' and he wouldn't care, the neo-cons don't care, they've got their crucial next for years and the rest of us can just kiss their asses.

What are these people going to do? Not vote for him in 2008?

27. I understand you want encouragement...
But he is sort of right. I mean it's great and fantastic that we have freepers all of a sudden turning against Bush... deciding he shouldn't of been elected... but the problem is he is elected... the best they can do is hopefully not fall for the lies of the next Republican Presidential nominee and hopefully make the right decision... instead of waiting until after the election and start going on about how they made the wrong decision.

What? They're surprised? A bush supporter would have to have been beyond brain dead in order to not know who/what they were promoting. I have no pity or understanding for them. THEY helped put this embarrassment in office. Thanks a lot, assholes.
